Emerald City Guitars has amazing stuff, but they also have some pretty high prices at times. They know the collector market well and cater to those people. They are less player friendly, although I like wandering through there for a dose of weirdness when work gets a little intense. My office is only about two blocks from where Veronica works.

I love oysters. One of my favorite foods. I was in D.C. for work two weeks ago. We found a really great oyster bar. Four of us went. We ended up slaying 12 dozen between us.

I'm about 12 miles outside of DC. These came from my commercial oyster friends on the Chesapeake Bay. I'm lucky enough to get them delivered to the boat when we call for them.
We pretty much "Bubba Gump" them.
There's raw and steamed and fried and grilled and stuffed and braised..in soup and on the grill. Even in vodka shooters.

That's awesome! I like 'em raw the best. The place we went to in DC is called Pearl Dive Oyster Palace. It was great. Oysters from all up and down the Eastern seaboard.

There are a lot of rich people in Seattle who have more money than sense.

And judging by the “skunk” smell in the elevator and hallway at the hotel I stayed at, they’re often out of their minds.

Mike and Mike’s was astonishingly accommodating. They let us pick up and try everything. They have a blue Mosrite that I could see owning someday, although we were pretty sure it was a reissue, not a Bakersfield buitlt one. They still have to research it to know what it is. It sounded and played great.

I’ve got to tell you. The people are fantastic. It was pretty busy with our group and others in there. They treated us well. And I’m sure they realize that even though we didn’t walk out with a purchase, they understand that we know their website and are likely to buy something at some point in the future. They had a nice Greco Thunderbird on the wall and five or six other basses and guitars I could see one of us getting. A must stop for anyone visiting Seattle.

Only other shop like that I've been in is the Chicago Music Exchange - I don't know how big M&M's is but the CME is as architecturally stylish/grand boutique as you get. They handed me a '62 J and left me plugged in to a nice amp in a room by myself.

Absorption panels are great at reducing high frequency waves from bouncing around a room, but AFAIK they don't do much at lower frequencies.
