Literally, Coffin(brand). I don't have the model number and I don't remember where I got it(online). I've had it for years.

Just remembered-I think I got it from Sam Ash. It's 58" long by 22" at its widest part(outside dimensions).

EDIT: I'm pretty certain it's this one (300VXR)

Hello T-bird enthusiasts ! Just picked up a really awesome 79 Ebony Bi-Cen T-bird. Amazing bass. I’ll post pics later this week. I want to gig with it but I can’t seem to find a suitable gig bag for it. I’m sure this has been asked many times before but any suggestions? The headstock is longer than an epiphone bird. Any help is appreciated

Congrats on the bass. No gig bag. Get a case. That's too nice of a bass to take a chance. I know some bags are good, but not as good as a case. The headstock will appreciate it.

Yep. Extra rare here. Has a 1976 serial number. No record of them doing any white ones in 1976.

Congrats on the bass. No gig bag. Get a case. That's too nice of a bass to take a chance. I know some bags are good, but not as good as a case. The headstock will appreciate it.

Thanks. It's only about 43 lbs. Well, it only feels like it after wearing a light bass! I don't know for sure, but every bit of 9-something for sure. I don't think about it for 30 minutes or so, but more than that and I likely would. I love it, but likely would not be my only bass at a gig.

what motor? this is an interesting twist to the AMC Rambler/SCRambler, IKA (Industrias Kaiser Argentina) Torino 380W. This one was styled by PininFarina and used the big Jeep Tornado OHC inline 6 with locally designed intake and exhaust manifolds breathing through 3 sidedraft Webers into a ZF tranny, sweet, sweet sounding… talk about a Franken car!……,holy grail status in Argentina, like owning a Ferrari…

FWIW, this is my 67 Gibson non-reverse in its Coffin case. A little unwieldy, but it keeps the bass intact. The bass's overall length is 52".

One of the best looking cars I ever owned was the Giugiaro designed ‘77 Scirocco. Too bad it was a total POS. It was fine when it ran. Which was rare. Nickel and dimed me to the point I gave it away in ‘87.

There was a Rambler American 2-door sedan running around Miami in the late 70s. The thing looked bone stock-unless you noticed "RAM-BLUR" hand painted on the front quarter panels. It had a 426 hemi crammed under the hood. It looked 'stock'. It wasn't.

Love the late '60s Ampeg scroll basses - tb's very own Bruce Johnson - Johnson's Extremely Strange Musical Instrument Company Home Page regularly on the Luthiers Corner thread is a wealth of information on these basses and builds his own most excellent clones of them as well as restoring/repairing vintage Ampeg basses. He's the most well known, unknown part of our bass universe - long live Bruce Johnson. Coincidentally, I played a (new) late '60s fretless scroll bass as a young teen (borrowed) for a live performance aided by neighborhood friends. Strange how life unfolds...

This "gig-bag" version looks promising... Coffin Cases Model CF-CBG2 Chimera Bass Premium Bag ...but no internal dimensions are provided. This seems to happen a lot with people selling cases/gig-bags.., no interior dimensions! Duh! - why is this so hard to comprehend as needed information?
