what motor? this is an interesting twist to the AMC Rambler/SCRambler, IKA (Industrias Kaiser Argentina) Torino 380W. This one was styled by PininFarina and used the big Jeep Tornado OHC inline 6 with locally designed intake and exhaust manifolds breathing through 3 sidedraft Webers into a ZF tranny, sweet, sweet sounding… talk about a Franken car!……,holy grail status in Argentina, like owning a Ferrari…

Torana was the Holden “red” 6 in 186 or 202 ci sizes. Very similar looking to the Chev 250 ci but scaled down, internally a little different as well.

Charger was the Valiant “Hemi” 6 in 245, 250 & 265 ci sizes (over time). The Hemi was an abandoned US truck engine (“D engine” I think it was called) to replace the Slant 6, then they thought “just stick a V8 in” for your trucks.
Chrysler Australia took over the development and made a great engine out of it. The marketers read semi domed head with angled valves and thought “Hemi”, even though it isn’t really. The 6 pack term here refers to 6 cylinders as much as 3x dual throat carbs. Various option packs: E33 E34 on Pacers, E37 & E38 on Chargers.

The Bicentennial fits in the Epi VP case? I don't remember hearing that before. I mean, it should given how long the VP headstock is.

Yes. I use that case to transport all the reverse thunderbirds. Decent case for the average person and isn't heavy like some cases. The only thing I give it a nick for is the handle. The cushioned part is more on the sides and at the very bottom (when carrying) it is compressed and you feel whatever metal frame it's built around. It's not bad, but at times if I'm carrying it much I can feel it being to be uncomfortable where as most cases are and stay more round and comfortable. Basically it has become something like a "V" shape instead of rounded.

Used the NR again yesterday. For run though I had Roto flats, changed to GHS Pressure wounds for the service. Put some Fender Flats on last evenin and they sound really good at home. So far the SIT Powerwounds sound the best, then LaBella DTFs, Roto Flats (more "just good," but not as good), and the GHSs, which were again good but even less so. I may likely go back to the SITs, but since I have a box of various strings I thought I would play the string game a bit. I like the idea of flats, but they will have to top the SITs. Regardless, the amp has made a huge difference and I am almost certain it won't be going anywhere.

What you see on the wall are not basses - they are 'investments'.

Here in Nashville it seems almost every guitar store there is (except the Gibson Garage) has vintage Fenders. They're so common that I'd say they're easy to find here, and yet the prices stay astronomically high. These are just factory production basses that are old. Back in the 80s these same basses were a few hundred bucks. Times have changed I suppose.

Interesting. How would you describe the difference? I have never knowingly played any strings by Dunlop. I know Marshall loves their Super Brights.

The black box are warmer, and also tighter in feel. With the Carvin's single coils, there are highs I want to tame. These seem to do a really nice job. We'll see how they are in a mix, though. Super Brights I've never been a fan of.

I agree, I guess I’ll just take it out occasionally. It wasn’t cheap, I paid just over 4k for it. I have to say it was worth every Penny. Has tons of vintage feel and vibe.

You mentioned a coffin case, but that bass will fit in many other hard cases. The Gator Tbird case would offer much more protection than any gig bag.
