If you can get a 1977ish Greco TB-90 in good to great condition for anything under $1200 you’ve got a great deal on a phenomenal sounding and playing bass. Easily in the top 5 best sounding birds ever ever made.

That said, if the pups aren’t original I’d do a hard pass. I wouldn’t lose any sleep over the finish quality of the hardware, these things are known for heavy oxidation on the bridge, tuners and knobs. As far as build quality and overall design, they are no better than a modern Epiphone. The magic is in the pups and their placement and the ever so slightly shorter scale - that mix creates just pure sonic bliss on the bottom end and a nice tight top end with strong forward sounding mids.

Its serial number is from January 1978 but I think it’s another one of those Japanese offers where they don’t actually have the bass. I’ve seen another ad with the same photos for over $1,800. Not sure now what the real owner will take.

I need the name of the place! We have the Red Lion Tavern near where I live, we go there alot, fantastic food, but always need another German place on the roster. I'll actually be in Germany this time next month, I'll definitely be having some Schweinshaxe!

Looks like LGB, especially the Chicken Dance boxcar, I remeber those though never had one. Used to have a few pieces of LGB rollingstock, like the Buffalo Bill, Annie Oakley, and Sitting Bull boxcars, D&RGW cars, but think I only had the basic started engine from LGB, mostly Bachmann and Aristocrat engines (Shays, Climax, Moguls). One day if I ever own a house I'll get back into Garden Railroading.

There was one on CL here a year or two ago with the pickups “upgraded” to Chinabuckers. The seller wanted a delusional $1500 or thereabouts for it. I didn’t bother to check it out.
