Perfect for jazz, noise rock, ambient, prog (think acid theremin solo), etc. That's insane. I kinda want one. But what would a person who doesn't practice do with it, anyway?

Most definitely went on. The Beatles were sent gear from Fender leading to Paul briefly using a lefty J in the later '60s for recording. There was also George Harrison's rosewood Tele seen being played on the "Get Back" roof performance made by Phil Kubicki when he was employed at Fender under Roger Rossmeisl. There's a thick Beatles gear book that lists all the gear they used and when. George is pictured playing a Burns bass. Gibson & Epi guitars appeared but no Thunderbirds were involved...
The Honeycombs used all Burns guitars-
Beatles & Vox were huge. Many surf bands were all Fender. That was definitely true for the Four Seasons and Gibson. And Mosrite with the Ventures for a few years.
Wow! Congrats!SCORE!!!
The 1966 Ampeg B-18N I purchased on line just arrived yesterday afternoon. It’s in much better shape than I expected and plays really really nice. Sounds great with my Greco Tbirds and a new bass I picked up today (more on that one later).

LOL - I expect that offer, the 50 cent piece and the required 12 cent stamp are all void by now. Dang, just missed it by 58 years.Wow! Congrats!
I didn't know about the offer to get your initials engraved on the lucite panel.
Yep. Leo and Dick Dale were tight. Dale was even involved in helping design some amps that would fill the Ballroom on the Newport peninsula where he played all the time.Beatles & Vox were huge. Many surf bands were all Fender.
Mine came with TI flats. Sound fine but low tension. Though, red silks. As mentioned earlier yesterday when picking up my Portaflex amp I stumbled across a GC Clearance sale on a bass I’ve been eyeing for a while. A brand new Epiphone Jack Casady for a price lower than many of the used ones I’ve been looking at. Played it and was very impressed, so I snagged it for about $500 out the door. This one’s very light at 7 pounds 6 ounces, no neck dive and no obvious flaws or damage. A unique and useable sound, plenty low when needed and plenty of bite when needed.

Factory rounds will probably get changed to something else, what are other JC players stringing with these days?
Those NJ models only work well East of the Mississippi. Something about the electromagnetic field being different the farther West you go could make them explode. Something like that. I could take it off you hands if it would help.SCORE!!!

All in favor of banning George for 60 seconds for posting way too much new gear everyone wants in one afternoon? As mentioned earlier yesterday when picking up my Portaflex amp I stumbled across a GC Clearance sale on a bass I’ve been eyeing for a while. A theremin is a different thing. Everyone should have a trusty theremin.Perfect for jazz, noise rock, ambient, prog (think acid theremin solo), etc.

It looked like she was singing to herself in a couple spots.Love that drummer!

You all and your JC’s are killing me. I go back and forth over wanting a blue one. You scored George - that's a great price for that amp in that condition... and shipped! And plays that way as well.
Absolutely zero hiss with the instrument unplugged and volume dimed. Zero crackle in any pot being rotated. Tolex is only slightly worn with one cigarette butt burn a few scuffs but no tears or peeling. The knobs are all pristine, the chrome is only very slightly pitted. The castors look brand new, the power cord has been updated to a three prong with the original cord kept along with the amp candy. The speaker looks to be original and in excellent condition. Only a minor poke in the grill cloth. The amp warms up quick and turns off quietly (no pops or bangs on any switch) and after several hours of hard high volume use was only slightly warm to the touch. Even all the handles look clean and well taken care of. I haven’t opened up the amp yet to see what the wiring looks like but as well as it plays I suspect all is good there too. All in all, I’m very pleased with the purchase, especially at the $1700 delivered price.
About the only condition question I have is on the two RCA 7027A tubes. They both have a black spot on the side which I assume is there by design as a heat shield or something, but I suppose they could be burn marks from over heating. Maybe @Chucky Stiletti can chime in on that. Here’s a pic of those tubes…

I’ll take the 360 off your hands so you’ll have room for one.A theremin is a different thing. Everyone should have a trusty theremin.
I don't have one.![]()

There’s, not a blue one, but more like a faded Inverness green one at the Atlantic Center GC here in Brooklyn. You all and your JC’s are killing me. I go back and forth over wanting a blue one. They’re gorgeous.
Fully agree with you. Can you find some obscure legal maneuvering that can stop them from this ongoing harassment? You all and your JC’s are killing me. I go back and forth over wanting a blue one. They’re gorgeous.
