Considering i'm in pretty decent shape for a 58yr old, doubt i could get through 5.

Last friday I was out drinking with a bunch of co-workers, when suddenly someone wanted a plank-challenge for 90 seconds...

I got submitted to peer pressure to join the challenge - reluctantly I did it, and surprisingly I was the only one who lasted all 90 seconds... :)

That seemed to happen to me at 40. All of a sudden my iron levels dropped severely. I was running regularly, yet all of a sudden I couldn't run two or three miles without having to stop to catch my breath. After a battery of tests, absolutely nothing was revealed. I took iron supplements and was fine. Same thing happened again a couple of years later.
Got arthritis in my hips now, suddenly, and I'm taking glucosamine and hyaurolonic acid every morning. They are in low-level chronic pain all the time, so I hope it's not helping! Lol. Going to a bone doc I guess.
I still hop around pretty good, but no I'm no longer 20.

I wasn't so soft when i was working for Delta Airlines, on the ramp.
That kept me on my toes and in great shape.
Behind a desk now.

Just remember, sitting is the new smoking.

I just got back from the gym. I try to get there at least a couple times a week. A lot more if possible. There are some body parts that hurt, but so it goes. I tore off a few ligaments that attach the left bicep to the left elbow. Maybe they are tendons. Knowing too much about that kind of thing is bad. The right hamstring is angry all the time. Old man drugs work up to a point. A bad attitude takes over from there! I can't get away with some of the shenanigans I got away with 20 or 30 years ago. Or especially 40 years ago, now that I think about it, but so long as everything works and I can still bounce up and down and all over, life is good.

What is absolutely true is that missing the gym for a week has an effect I can feel. Beating on the old bag of bones makes it feel lousy while it's getting beat on, but much better the rest of the time. Plus, everything has kept working so far. Tomorrow may be different.

did you have to drill a hole for the grounding wire?

I'll have to ask LJ at Music Central in Hopkinsville MY (shameless plug) to verify how he did that. He said he'd probably run it to the bridge but I didn't ask him what the end solution was.

There's a small hole [in the body] under the high mass bridge (forget exactly where) and the end of the ground wire feeds through and lies flat underneath bridge which is screwed down tight against it.

Think about Pilates. It could really help.

I'm in the same boat. I was 20 until I turned 55. Always kept in good shape and never relied on doctors to keep things in check. That's a distant memory now, bad arthritis in the lower back and right hand. I've found that the longer I sit the worse it gets. No over exertion needed but gotta keep moving and taking over the counter pain killers. I've found golf is a good light duty pastime that keeps all the joints moving.

Gone are the days of half marathons, pickup B'ball or a friendly weekend game of flag football and major yard or construction work is now hired out. Never thought I'd get to that point but when I hit 55 I needed to make some choices to deal with the pain. Will be interesting to hear what your bone doc says. If you find a silver bullet let me know.

Yeah, when I was in the army, I was in much better shape; I used to run marathons. For fun we used to run 10Km with a 40lb backpack. At the same time, I was lifting weights. At 5'7", I weighed 210lbs with only 15% body fat. Running with weights, when you weigh that much it isn't a great idea, my knees aren't so good anymore. I don't run anymore, and I don't lift weights as it is uncomfortable being that big. But I get my exercise on the elliptical trainer, in my kayak, and on the ski hill now. Just got to deal with the aches and pains from having lived an active life. Aleve is great stuff. I'm doing pretty well for an old guy.
