We used to do that song but with a guy singer. We seemed to almost always have guys that could sing like girls! Did a fair amount of Journey as well.

There are celebrities who have passed away that I admired so much, it was like losing a family member. Bowie’s passing, and Squire’s passing affected me deeply.

It was just announced that Fernando Valenzuela passed away today. I am numb. He was a humble man who brought so much joy to his community. A true American dream story. He will be missed.

Yes, you’re right. Someday I’ll remove it, but I think that all modern Thunderbirds should have modern bridges.

It had updated electronics. One weird thing was that it had two jacks outputs because pickup volume pots were removed and there was only pickup selector.
Then when I saw it again in local store, guy said that it’s not a Gallan but a Gaban bass. Sometimes I think to have it again but then I think to keep moving on and someday get an original Gibson T-Bird.
I don’t mind about club card.

I would pass on that red one. It looks like a mess. There is something just a little different about a Gibson. I can't say what it is exactly, but it's there. If you ever get a chance to pick up a 2001 Thunderbird, do it. Gibson seems to have done a lot of different things with the pickups over the years, and that year they got something exactly right. Maybe 2000 and 2002 are similar, but I only know about 2001s since I have one.

haven’t played this in years, brushing up as it got requested by Elsa, a new singer…forgot Fossen played a Bird in the video……be interesting to know if he recorded that song finger style (no pick) on a Bird as in the video…..

He's pretty well hidden in the video. You have to be paying attention to see the 'Bird hiding back in the shadows.

That red one was my first Thunderbird. I’ve never had them before in my arms . But I really liked its shape and liked Twiggy Ramirez from Marilyn Manson, so Ithought that someday I need to get one.
Guy that was selling it had another Japanese Thunderbird, more modern from 90s and something like Nikki Sixx model. I’ve listened them and liked red.

Here's that Lull T4 II we were talking about the other day hanging in the shop.

I would dig dig dig a Stingray.

Contemplating building a reverse bird with a vintage PreEB stingray pup (in the classic ray location of course) and a Leo Gen 1 preamp installed in a NR Tbird with a stingray style pickguard and bridge and knobs as well, maybe even a classic 3+1 headstock to boot.

Also contemplating a reverse body G&L Equipped Tbird for the Swiss Army knife of all birds, a reverse body semi hollow DanoBird with lipsticks and even a NR body Warwick ThumbBird. To my ears the Stingray, G&L, Dano Longhorn and Warwick Thumb each have a very distinctive sound that’s not currently covered by any Tbird offering. Would be cool to be able to meld some more of my favorite bass sounds with my favorite bass body. I’m really enjoying my ThunderCaster build and how it frees me up to get one of my favorite Fender sounds in a Tbird body.

Great tune, hadn’t heard it before. Love the front and center Tbird, but that singer could have easily been whacked in the face a few times. Great stage presence by all.

Funny you mention that. I also had some red nylon parachute pants with more zippers than necessary. (Not MC Hammer pants - but nylon cargo pants that were called parachute pants - perhaps because of the feel).

There was a gal at work at work in the payroll dept (newspaper office), and we called her Jamie Jetson. She had red orange hair, and a penchant for wearing crazy outfits... like a silver jumpsuit like what Patty Labelle might have owned. Needless to say, she was a spectacle, and we all loved her. I wore some colorful get-ups myself... so in a way... I was like her male counterpart. Jamie's big time to shine was on holidays - wearing whatever colors coincided with the occasion. I decided to throw down the glove, and challenge her to a contest. Who can wear the most articles of clothing in the appropriate colors wins. The upcoming holiday was Valentine's Day - so she thought she had the win for sure. I dug out everything red and white that I had (no pinks), including the red zippered pants. Red sneakers... red & white striped socks. Red and white bandana. Red & white shirt. And the clincher - red bikini briefs. Jewelry did not count. Anyhow, as the judges counted articles of clothing, it came down to a tie. So, that's when I tugged the pants down (on the side) low enough to reveal the red briefs. She had on black undies sadly, thinking she wouldn't need any more red. So I beat her! The office couldn't believe it. Jamie never accepted another challenge...!

Speaking of dives*... at Winters' with the support pole stage left - it could be doubly problematic...

*endearingly expressed by those of us who love/support CJ & Corrine / Winters' Tavern in Pacifica CA where it's all about the music (careful with that pole Eugene!)

Yah - I remember going to an art opening back then wearing black cargo pants and a black leather jacket with dozens of zippers.
