Ahem!Dude! Cut loose and spank that thang!
I'd be interested if black and fit a Epi E1 bird.Anyone looking for a set of brand new, unopened Hipshot HB 2 tuners with mounting hardware and lollipop keys? I know a guy. $65. Unsure if that includes shipping, but shipping shouldn't be much.
I've asked about color, though I suspect they are chrome. The latter would be a Hipshot question, or look at specs online. Hipshot puts dimensions up for their bridges, and I suspect they do for tuners as well.I'd be interested if black and fit a Epi E1 bird.
The hole in the headstock would need to be about 0.7" dia according to their drawing. I don't think that's a standard EPI size.I've asked about color, though I suspect they are chrome. We have tools for that. The hole in the headstock would need to be about 0.7" dia according to their drawing. I don't think that's a standard EPI size.
I thought about buying a gold one a while ago. They have really rocketed up in price. Oh, well. I could have had a '64 about 20 years ago for what a plain old reissue goes for now, but didn't do it. Oh, well again.Well, I didn't stumble across any Gibson Thunderbirds in Las Vegas, but there are a few back in the Beehive State to look at when I get back next week. A 2005 Studio, 2013 Anniversary, and a red Nikki Sixx. I'm interested in the gold Anniversary if I can get it for the right price.

Probably not, actually. You probably wouldn't enjoy playing them much more than the pixie dust one, anyway.
lol...spank the plank dang it!..Ahem!
I have the Gold Anniversary bird and it’s my best playing Gibson Tbird. Nice and light, quick neck and buttery smooth sound. Love it! It was my first official Tbird purchase and I paid about $1000 for it back around 2016. The darn things are listing for three and four times that now. Glad I got one when I did, hard to justify at that price today - nearly the same cost as a Bicentennial or a Lull or even a bargain basement refin kinda stock 1960’s NR (referring to that baby blue one that’s been on Reverb forever). If you can find a Gold Anniversary bird for anything near $2000 just jump on it, you won’t be disappointed.Well, I didn't stumble across any Gibson Thunderbirds in Las Vegas, but there are a few back in the Beehive State to look at when I get back next week. There was one at a local store a few years ago for about $1600 IIRC, but it had a nasty chip on the headstock (on the bass side so visible while playing it). Someone had attempted to repair the finish and not made it better.I have the Gold Anniversary bird and it’s my best playing Gibson Tbird. Nice and light, quick neck and buttery smooth sound. Love it! I don't think 2k is doable anymore. Maybe $2300, probably $2500. I knew I couldn't ignore it, and it's not like you can airbrush a repair on that finish.

I believe those are Schaller style CBS Fender era tuners.I'd be interested if black and fit a Epi E1 bird.
But it’s gold!!!!!Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but that gold anniversary Thunderbird is functionally the same as any other from 2013.
The 67 has a few fairly major dings in the lower bout(some fine, Honduran mahogany under there). I can't see them while I'm playing-or while I'm pulling it out or putting it in...the case, that is. IOW, I don't care[as in let it bother me]. If I could afford to have it refinished...I prolly wouldn't.There was one at a local store a few years ago for about $1600 IIRC, but it had a nasty chip on the headstock (on the bass side so visible while playing it).
