No problems. That one is the reissue that lives in a closet upstairs. Getting it up and down the back stairs is straight forward, just a little time consuming. Getting the original in and out of the basement is all technique and taking your time. Geometry makes it easier than lighter, more awkwardly shaped objects. Like PA speakers.
? Doesn’t affect me; not much of a fan. But several here do like them. I have not heard that. But I do know cobalt is difficult to extract, it is not an environmentally friendly process, and there have been shortages recently.

As it happens, I just bought 2 sets of 50-105 from the TB classifieds.
I got the set Gibson re-issues out of a 2021 NR for a great price and that’s what I’ll be putting in the natural 2001 Gibson I had planned to move them to.
My StatusBird has dual reverse P pickups. I like the setup a lot. This one has EMG PX pickups and a EMG preamp, but I can't remember which one. Really nice bass that sounds fantastic to my ears. I do think about changing it to passive with either 2 EMG Geezer P pickups or maybe Duncan Quarter Pound Pickups to warm it up a bit tho. I think the graphite neck makes it a little brighter sounding.
I removed the tort guard immediately when I received the Bird.

Yes, Classic Pro. Have you got the pickups nice and close to the strings? If this is with both p/u dimed, try rolling one part way off.
You can mod it to series (or switchable p/s) as easily as any other bass. Just realize it will get darker doubting yet.

Today, I decided to do something different with my ongoing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan comic. Which can be found in full HERE.

Anyway, my story is in the Canon of the 2012 series, which is well worth checking out for those who haven't seen it. The big bad in that series is an alien species known as The Kraang and of course Shredder.
In my story, The Kraang have just been handed their butts on a silver platter by the Turtles and their allies, with Kraang Prime having been beaten with mutagen filled bullets which mutated him into a human girl.
Coincidentally, the same happened to the lieutenant Kraang Subprime, who is a cousin of Krang from the eighties' series. The two are reunited in a prison cell at Ryker's island.
That "Warm welcome" Kraang Subprime mentioned, was because she shot and killed one of the identical triplet sisters employed by the Foot Clan, the two remaining sisters, not being very happy with that happening. In the page which comes after this one, Subprime exclaims that she's going to make their looks even more matching and attacks Kraang Prime.
Anyway, both leaders of the Kraang are brought to inter galactical court for their many crimes of genocide and other crimes against life in general, no matter where in the universe they went. The verdict isn't all that surprising.
As I pointed out Earlier, Kraang Subprime and Krang from the eighties cartoon series are cousins and they don't really have that good a bond with each other. So sending Subprime to THAT world is a worse prison than Alcatrazz.
Which brings us to the page I drew today, which is different.
Yeah, with this one, I went above and beyond to ape that 1987 show's style and the comics which also came out around that time. PLUS, it was so much fun depicting classic Shredder and Krang here.

Everything is available for the right price. It is the practice amp from hell at the moment.
The Shingles shot is not pleasant from those I know who have received it. Shingles is really bad/awful from personal experience. It's painful. It itches. Anything that touches it sets it off. Nothing touching it sets it off. Oh, and nothing really helps. It's dangerous as well. Can get in your eye and cause blindness.
Welcome to the world of Thunderbird! I have a number of basses that are louder than my Gibson Thunderbird with those style pickups.
77s Are a great flat. Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats are a great choice for Thunderbirds.
I played the '71 J today with TIs.
Through this (the ABM).
Sounded fantastic. Used this setup a few weeks ago at rehearsal, but today confirmed keeping the J is a wise decision. That head is a life-saver for some basses.
