Thunderbird Club

Mike was kind enough to send me a tracing of his NR pickguard. I did a quick copy and cut out of paper to see how it looks on the Bach.

That must be true. Happy Birthday Marshall. Cheers!

Uh, no. I think the bass slot is occupied. By a guy who toured the world with Government Mule. But I will work on getting into the scene. I am learning just how many players there are up here. It is pretty much under the radar. People live here to enjoy anonymity and privacy.
Oh wow, didn't know......

A little '70s to start with then the '80s happen.

20th Century Boy
Ballroom Blitz
Tie your Mother down
Red Skies
Tainted Love
I will Follow
London Calling
Lets go Crazy
Rebel Yell
Strength
Rain
Sanctuary
We're not gonna take it

Nothing more Glam than a White Thunderbird (Thank you, Overend Watts!) so the '89 gets the call.

That’s a fun set!

Random, bird-related thoughts on this week:

I usually just practice at home through one Rumble 200 but this week I daisy chained two like I usually play live. I forgot what a difference using two makes even here. Much more fun.

The Grecos and Thunderbucker VP are still vying for first place with the CP close behind. It’s a good thing I don’t have our Queen’s collection or I’d gridlock! (That’s how I console myself.)

We’re doing Tom Petty’s “Room at the Top” tomorrow at church. Fun song!

They're set neck, I had one and it was okay, not great. Build quality was fine, the pickups were a bit bland, the headstock was just stupid big, kinda like a VP but wider - and since the body is light it really did want to dive a bit. It had a notable dead spot at Fs on the E string which TBH I found odd and not fixable, I did put some Nickel covers I got from Mike Lull on the pickups after I skinned the black plastic off of them.

Loud and live with it a long time ago.

Pickups are an easy fix, but I detest dead spots. There’s a way to manage those but it adds weight to the headstock. Hopefully I won’t have to deal with that situation.

10 km done today. I need a nap...

I also have been working on my music (much more than skiing...) and did this a few days ago. It's not part of the album but sort of gives away the idea of what it's going to sound like (*ss-backwards style promoting, I know). 75% made from loops, looped and not looped stuff played by me.
The bass is the new fretless.

Also running daisy-chained combos. I've had a lot of amps, but this actually works really well for me
mine are 150w and 15" each

As for basses i try to just rotate a different one each time I play. Sometimes I have favoritism ;)

Have fun at your services!
