Don’t get me started on pedals.

Almost all of my stuff is “upgraded”, from premium tubes, to better speakers, to boutique pickups, to Hipshot, Schaller, Babicz hardware etc.

Buying new stuff is something that simultaneously gives me happiness and guilt, and in the balance between those two often guilt wins. But, it keeps me working hard. Gotta earn.

Mephisto, are you SF Bay Area? I saw that you waiting for something to land here?

I’m in San Joaquin valley. Patterson adjacent.
I want a 212av and hate that I’m missing a local one for a great deal.

You definitely have me beat on the collection! I consider mine modest, carefully curated.

We should meetup at some point.

Most don't like them, but I thought Gremlins were cool. AMC did a great job with those. I'm not sure what the were thinking with the Pacer.

Those Schecter Stargazers look cool. What do you think of it?

I like it A LOT surprisingly light (8.6 lbs) and hangs well. Versatile totally and HUGE sounding.

The bass you want...........

It's not difficult to play or get the right tone if you have the right bass and a tube amp. Re eq your amp and use only the bridge pickup, not the Mudbucker, it sounds perfect for copping Andy Fraser, good for adventures with Cream's catalog as well.

Oh, that’s a ways out.

I’m currently up above Sonora for couple more days, 2 1/2 hours or so away from home. We pass by a bit north of there on the way up and back. Family owns a nice little cabin right at the edge of the forest, last house on one of the lasts roads at the end of the main road coming up. I get to come here when the SO is on break from working at a school. The spring break is perfect usually, since it’s not too hot or too cold. We bring the cat and he loves it here, the carpeted stairs are his playground.

We have gigs in Twain Harte regularly.
Envy you with the availability of a cabin there! Beautiful area.

My 3 female Maine Coons don’t like traveling and at just under 20lbs each: they can be hard to convince

My 3 female Maine Coons don’t like traveling

When we got Attila, we didn’t live together yet, so from 3 months old, he was shuttled from San Mateo to SF every two weeks. I don’t think he ever “liked” it, but he tolerated and didn’t appear stressed (which would have stressed me).

Now that we live together, his car rides are down to about only 2-3 times a year, when we come up here and the annual vet checkup. He complains a little more, but once we’re on the road he curls up in his crate and (appears to) sleep.

We love him more than there are words.

Lucky here too, 5 times for me on four different tours, and the first time was at Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium? Like a high school gym sized place. (1984?) 15 feet from him the entire show, he blew off the guitar twice and just froze, staring at it momentarily figuring where to jump back in with the band. He beat the s--- out of the guitar on the floor that night, was more careful with it at the other shows I experianced later on.

When it was obvious that my Volvo 544 wasn’t safe enough to take to college with me, I got a Dodge Colt. It was a decent little ride for what it was. I had it ten years and put 210k miles on it. Only ever needed oil changes, one radiator swap, brake jobs and struts. I only got rid of it because the seats had worn out and the clear coat over the paint was horribly crazed. And I grew up and got a real job that required I wear suits so AC was a must.

Only once at the Golden Bear right before moving from the OC to Sac. I barely remember it. The beers were flowing that night…

First job out of college was with Mobil. Company cars did not come with AC. So, when the the NY suits came to visit the regional HQ in Dallas in July, the driver was told to take I35 during rush hour...AC became standard equipment on all new leases.
