Which RIC do you have? Pics?

2019 4003 in matte black. I need to put the original pickguard back on it before I take pics. Some of the matte black is “polished” by regular wear to a semi-gloss, especially the back of the neck, and I had intended on getting it polished to a uniform semi-gloss, but never got around to it.

PM if you’re really interested, I’d let it go for $1600, with case.

I remember how much my ears hurt after that set. Second deck behind home plate.

I was at that Day On The Green in July of ‘77. It was epic. Spent most of the day on the green, standing room only in the hot sun. Went to a few other DotG concerts at Oakland coliseum in ‘75 thru ‘78. Always a great venue for top bands, never had to bring your own contraband there was plenty of libation of every type to be purchased or shared there.

Yes sir, it was boiling that day. After most of the day on the field, it was time to hit the shade on the second deck. Kind of a mistake as that part of the second deck had a closed wall behind it to block the wind. All it did was reflect the sound back at ya. Ouch.

(A whole bunch of bad words)
I miss those cats.
Can't agree more.

To hear some bass playing listen to this--loud with good bass speakers or buds to hear how low and loud his bass was, and to hear all his playing. Not a lot during the verses. He was the definition of "surround sound." I've never heard another bass player sound like him after countless concerts. Quintessential Leon. A lot of musical playing in some parts even on a slow song--but never playing one note too many. And, he was self taught. Ed King once said of Leon early on, “I don’t think Leon knew where any of the notes were. He played totally by instinct, and his instincts were usually right.”

Not to mention it may be Gary's best solo.

I’ve been to so many day on the greens (in various states of mind) they all kind of run together. I think that was the one with Frampton and Santana as well. I think there were one or two warm up bands but I don’t recall who they were. I had just graduated from HS and was out of control on the party front, that entire summer is a complete blur.

On one of the other DotG concerts, I think in 1975 or ‘76, the headliner was Chicago and The Beach Boys but AC/DC was the opening act, never heard of them at that time. All I remember about them is seeing some goofy looking school boy kid scooting across the stage while riffing on his guitar. I thought, this band ain’t going nowhere. Little did I know.

Well, as I recall, you once seemed unsure about the possibilities of a somewhat new "sappy" band named Chicago. :roflmao:

Yes, a complete blur. Some acts stick in my head for no reason. Nils Lofgren, Peter Frampton, Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen, the funkiest band in the land The J. Geils Band, Dave Mason, Gary Wright. Sneaking booze in at the bottom of a Coleman cooler. Again, how are we all still here.

Played keys in those days.

Funky looking keys

Never really noticed it before, but I think that entire LS line up is Gibson. Is that correct?
Yes. A Strat was often used for Sweet Home Alabama (Ed King had played a Strat, and the song sounds different without it). Leon sometimes played a P as well as his birds. But often - as here - yes! Allen played Firebirds for a while (Explorer here).

Because we all took care of each other.

Trying to figure out the logistics of setting up since load in to Daisy's is gonna be an ABSOLUTE nightmare since there's thousands of bikers in the area....thinking dropping off the Ashdown cabs earlier and doing the Trehouse with the 2x12" Markbass...only got 2 hrs between gigs and they are about 50 miles apart.. .... meanwhile, customer projects coming in....
@TBird1958 TE says "don't worry about me mom"....summer finally here.....
