Thunderbird Club

Must have started listening late. CTA is still my all time favorite Chicago album, and much harder and more experimental than anything that came after.
The first few were ok. By VII they were pretty much past it. The partying took its toll and the easy money from easy listening stuff ruined them. Then Kath died. I’ve appreciated some of it over the years, especially the horns. And I saw them live a few times spread over the years. The last time being right before Sheff left.

at the Treehouse again today followed by 45's at Daisy's in SJ....

Trying to figure out the logistics of setting up since load in to Daisy's is gonna be an ABSOLUTE nightmare since there's thousands of bikers in the area....thinking dropping off the Ashdown cabs earlier and doing the Trehouse with the 2x12" Markbass...only got 2 hrs between gigs and they are about 50 miles apart.. .... meanwhile, customer projects coming in....

Time to retire. That Apple stuff is getting in the way.

Yes. A Strat was often used for Sweet Home Alabama (Ed King had played a Strat, and the song sounds different without it). Leon sometimes played a P as well as his birds. But often - as here - yes! Allen played Firebirds for a while (Explorer here).
Definitely Gibson city!

I've seen a few rare pics of Allen playing a strat. Possibly after Ed left. Then Steve Gaines alternated and seems to have played a Strat a good bit beyond SHA. Maybe 1/3 of the time? Who knows. Leon also played a '62 Jazz a lot mid 70s (Live album). He had two of them I think, among other basses.

LOL - I’m seeing a trend here, first Chicago then AC/DC. What next…
…that Silver Spun Pickup band ain’t going nowhere (there Marshall, that should guarantee their success!).
Yes, I didn't want to say it, but I'm glad you stuck with being a ME. A talent you ain't! :roflmao:

But in fairness we have all see bands early on we thought were OK to later become big, and some great ones that never did.

Definitely Gibson city!
