You don't believe in gloves? Gloves don't believe in you? Mahogany juices goes right through gloves?
Is this a case of you having alien sweat like certain other members? Or does the mahogany have alien sweat?
Enquirer minds want to know!

I don't wear gloves when using power tools. Plus, the orange hands look weird but don't bother me. I don't know why mahogany does that to my hands. It doesn't do it to everyone. Honduras does it most. It is also unavailable these days.

I've been alternating between stuff we play for church and the Grateful Dead.

Here's something I just found through NPR today: Mick Fleetwood on drums, Jake on the jumping flea. They do a cool version of Whiter Shade of Pale, but the drums don't even sound like Mick on the one I heard, more like synthetic tracks to record by.
They don't say here who the other cats are. Cool bass even if it's not a Thunderbird.

What are you planning to put into these Epi E1 covers?

Whatever fits. Most people that want pickups have specific requests. I just see if their wants can fit in the cover.

For instance i just finished a EMG40 with a 5 String P bass in the shells.

Mahogany is the wood that was made to be worked. Given a choice, that's all I would ever deal with. It turns my hands orange, but that's a small price to pay.

I tried to tell ya: No Cheetos while working the mahogany.

Wow Glen, it looks great! You are much more scientific about shaping bass bodies than I am
My process is to look at another instrument and then remove wood until it seems right... taking a few measurements as I go.
I'll be thinning the wings and doing a belly cut on my Epi base Tbird soon.

I find mahogany really easy to work vs maple or ash. But I've never shaped a basswood or alder instrument.

The Okoume that is used by Epiphone works very much like real mahogany.

Fist time I've gotten a good pic of the G&L Redburst with binding. Normally it's stark and the red is bright and the black just looks like a cheap stripe around the edge. Still not great, but better than other attempts. Was contemplating on selling it, but it's the best looking bass I own, sounds like it should and one with the binding is very uncommon.

I'm digging mine so much! Used it last night at rehearsal and it was pure joy, my settings are similar, I have the Valve Drive at 9, bass knob up at 10:30 with the lowest slider down quite a bit, just a little less compression - It sounds so much like my Trace, love it!

Stoked to hear that.....part of the lure is the Trace Elliott pedigree....what's the watts rating on your SWR?

Stoked to hear that.....part of the lure is the Trace Elliott pedigree....what's the watts rating on your SWR?

I just loaded it into the Subie so I can't read the label............ The internets says 1000 watts, the Ashdown is 300, haven't gotten the master volume past 10:00 yet! I'm excited for the show tomorrow night, the weather out on the coast should be about 74, we're right on the Strait of Juan de Fuca - talk about a cool gig! Pics will follow.
