An interesting security strategy for those of you in the SVT and Acoustic led sled club would be to put price tags on all your bass gear. But significantly undervalue all the basses while drastically overvaluing the super heavy gear. The thieves will hit the high dollar stuff first. The resulting hernia or broken back will keep them from taking anything else.

Hold is firm enough I probably wouldnt need tape.
But I will tape the unbeveled long edge to avoid any movement.
Sadly, now must turn to on yardwork and then department budget calcs which will eat most of the day.
As I have not tried router beveling before, I have to do some scrap tests.
If I dont like the result, the template will still make hand beveling a lot easier, as a vise buck.

Looking at it now, not sure if my holes are far enough offset from the edge to support a 45-deg bevel and countersink.
If not, back to the drawing board we will go.

I'm glad that I really only want old Thunderbirds, and I'm really happy to already have the one I always wanted. There is a certain "something" to an old, well played bass.
Probably just the way the photo was taken, but it sure looks like it has a twist in it. And somebody had to really crank that truss screw to muck it up like that. $4000 would be a full pass don’t look twice for me, not that I need one anyway.
Looks nice, but I can’t play guitar to save my life so no temptation there. I already have a 1968 Fender bass I don’t play much so no desire for another relic on that front. Now a 1960’s Reverse or NR bird is another story, but again it would have to be a really sweet deal for me to bite.

One frustrating thing that happens here is have teenagers that light fireworks, firecrackers, and small bombs around Halloween and New Years. Its illegal but they are apparently pretty easy to get....This year it hasn't stopped. Eddy gets freaked out, so my office/music room with it's sound treatment is the best spot in the house for him.

My Eagle has the original Dimarzio P pickups and RS66 strings. As an experiment, I might disconnect the electronics and wire it VVT with 500k pots. Or put flats on it and use it for reggae
That's a real pain. I hate it for dogs that get all tore up. Has to be miserable. Fortunately I've never had a dog that was bothered buy those things--but every dog of a friend or relative goes crazy even at light thunder. If two dogs of a friend even heard thunder or a firecracker they would not do their business the rest of the night. Even if 5pm, they were done.
Good stuff came from knowing him, some healthy associations and positive influence. Things that you realize were substantial that stay with you.
