Totally agree. I have met and observed many hard working young people. I have also seen as many slackers. It comes from the parents and grandparents IMO.lots of it generational I think, my dad would have never left the house (let alone go to work) without a clean shave....we're boomers and used to our military type parents.....the fact that four generations (first time in modern history) occupy the workspace these days, adds in highlighting these differences imho...
Much was criticized about the early-mid '70s as a drop in responsible attention to societal responsibilities, primarily due to the on-slot of hard-drugs. This was true. Those of use who lived through that period understand. If you want to review, read "Season of the Witch" to illustrate what happened in the SF/Bay Area "City of Love" in the late '60s-'70s. As someone who had my 'news' then filtered through the Mid-West media - the facts were shocking. The ball was dropped then and was retaliated against in an excessive manner (another story) - but I feel this 'tech-centric' world is just as detrimental to society because there are no guardrails.lots of it generational I think, my dad would have never left the house (let alone go to work) without a clean shave....we're boomers and used to our military type parents.....the fact that four generations (first time in modern history) occupy the workspace these days, adds in highlighting these differences imho...
I agree - a luthier of that caliber should be considered an artist. A high praise. The foundation is a serious focus on experience, quality and integrity.Oh. My. God. That guy is an artist.

Too few of the young hard workers, too many of the slackers... and I agree it comes from their parents and grandparents but also comes from the slackening of societal norms. Awesome!

glad to hear - I want to remain an optimist...Lots of hard workers around here. Not too many slackers.
I am pretty impressed with a lot of the “kids” I come across. Now granted, I’ve been pretty much a hermit since the pandemic. But when I venture out into the “wild,” I meet a lot of impressive young people. It could be where I am. Most every place I go is either in Bakersfield or Santa Clarita/Valencia. We spend a fair amount of time down in the OC too. I’m less impressed with what we encounter there.Lots of hard workers around here. Not too many slackers.
I use a micro POG - works good for bass. I use it with Bond Girl on "Buena" to approximate the 2 string w/slide vibe...I think the Octamizer may have to go back. It just doesn’t track right, farting up and back down (very quickly) every second or third note. I’ve played with the controls a good bit, watched the Aguilar videos, etc. Sad face. I guess the birds just didn’t choose it.
The XVive, however — assuming it works as well live as it does in the house, will stay and I’ll get a second one at some point.
I may give EH a try again. I loved their guitar pedals, but two of the first bass pedals I bought (new) were EH Just out of the warranty periods, each started randomly squealing. The feedback was clearly internal, because no matter what I used them with, it would randomly happen.

So you finally went Gibson? If you have a 64 Thunderbird, could you post a photo of how the nut sits in its slot — from one end of the nut? Thanks!
I use a T-Rex Quint machine and it tracks great. It also does not have trouble tracking chords.I think the Octamizer may have to go back.
