Nice!

There’s an Epi EBO, not sure of the year, but it’s obviously newer, ad and pics show Indonesia which are usually good quality, on the local Craigslist for a $180 ask with a decent looking bag, strap, and cable included. I don’t need it at all but it’s tempting…new ones now go for over $300 after adding tax. It’s cherry and looks good in the pics…I really need to stop looking at ads. And listening to you guys.
Shout out for the Epiphone EB 3.
Mine is a 2018. Got it for a steal from Sweetwater new.
I think it’s more solid and better playing than an EB3 I had in the 70’s. And long scale to boot.
The stock pickups sound fine to me after putting a set of RS 66’s on it.
I’ve been going through my collection of stuff after knee replacement in December.
This one was hiding in a closet.
Recommend, especially if the come up cheap on CL or marketplace.
Cheers!

Edit..The dust has been cleaned off of the headstock now. I guess I should be checking these more often. :)

Well you’re no help.

The ones I’ve played are a far cry from a typical Tbird in tone. Perfect for laying back and holding the foundation, but not your typical spotlight type bass. It’s a sound I like a lot, but many bass players today might not. That said, if you look at it as a special use bass for those times where it really fits the song well it might be a great option.
I've heard people use them way back--Boz Burrell being one I think (not exclusively though), and sounded great. Maybe they worked better (for my liking) with older amps driven hard. When I plated them I hoped the bridge pup would tighten up the sound, but didn't really work for me. But the only one I was able to spend a few days with and use my amps was the Epi.

More not funny stuff falling. Much more on the way Sat/Sun.

Loads of cool stuff on the topic online....
the LM4250 has long been discontinued but TI has some interesting App notes on suitable replacements.....ENJOY!..

I have also heard/read the people who played both preferred the original 2 band. I played them but it was so long ago don't remember anything. I didn't care for the newer one I had. Beautiful instrument and love playing it. Oddly enough the finish began detaching around the bridge. EB gave me a discount an a new body when I sent the old one to them. I wasn't impressed with what I had to pay considering it was clearly some flaw from the factory. Got the new body and sold it. Just not for me and I moved on.

Not that I need another project, but that looks like fun!

This is pure EB-3, no Mudbucker and a pile of Marshalls. Drums, Guitar, Bass and vocals everything has its own sonic "space" and there's plenty of "air" between the notes. Fraser is brilliant, spare at times, then fluid when called for, an incredible talent at 18 years old. I love this band, no second or third guitars needed, just these basic elements, its raw and simple.

Think Jack Bruce in Cream. Lay down the foundation or tear it up!
And there's one of our/nearly everyone's differences. I liked Bruce's playing; strongly disliked* his tone. I started playing bass(a 66ish Gibson EB-3)when one was supposed to be similar to a UB: deep and full. Example of tone I strongly disliked*: Andy Fraser on "All Right Now".
Tweetchie zone.

*not quite "hated", but close

Well said, that’s what I was trying to get at with my overly wordy response. Donnie seems to like more definition than an EB Mudbucker normally delivers. If he gets one with the bridge pup he can claw back some of that top end.
I tried various combinations of the Mudbucker and bridge pup with the 4 position switch. Then I turned the bridge pup off.

I had given my reply re Andy Fraser b4 reading this. It clearly shows how different our choices in listening and playing can be.

And, of course, I'm right and youse guys...NVM.;):bag:

IOW, everyone to their own bag.👍

beautiful basses and pic.....short scale is what steered me away from the EB basses, any neck dive worth mentioning with that longer scale?
