Home again, home again …

Only one Rumble 100 (as bass monitor) since I’m going from my pedalboard’s pre/DI to FOH now, but I did take an unnecessary cajon. In. The Epi cases are one each Gibson 1964 II and a VP. Every other bird I have will fit happily in either case. While the bridge end strap button is higher on the ‘64 than any of the others, it still fits in one of these cases but not in the other. The horn and bottom cuts in the foam are different between teh cases!

Normally the percussion player is forward stage right and I’m back and to their left. Today I suggested we swap, which worked as I hoped. The leader wasn’t complaining about too much bass (monitor bleed). Bonus points because I could hear bass from FOH better. I almost (almost) didn’t need the monitor.

My Daughter was allergic to anything out of water so I quit eating seafood outta respect. I don't miss it.

My son developed a seafood* allergy, prawns etc, in his late teens / early twenties. He loved prawns too.

* Strangely (to me) oily fish like salmon & tuna don’t affect him, but crustaceans and white fleshed fish do. 🤷‍♂️

…jiggity jig…. So you saw that movie too-

Quick question- what is FOH?

If you can refinish it yourself it’s not a bad price.
But if you send it out for a finish job it’s gonna cost at least $500 plus shipping. You can find these all day long in great condition for $1500 or less. Hard pass for this non self finisher.
Having Pat Wilkins do a set-neck T-bird would be closer to $700 plus shipping.

I very much preferred the 60s / early 70s BeeGees songs but they were great musicians in each era.
This is a fact. The brothers Gibb continued making music after disco waned and as much as it's not all "great" - it's very good and sounded respectfully contemporary. So many pop/rock bands/artists incorporated music of the era into their songs as they 'aged'. Think how Yes, Steve Winwood and even Neil Young reinvented themselves into the '80s. All musicians don't retire after their initial fame diminishes - the best keep moving forward. My best example would be David Bowie.

Don’t forget though, that the brothers particularly Barry, navigated the post disco reputation drop by writing and sometimes producing for other people.

Barbra Streisand, Dianne Warwick, Diana Ross among them.
Not to forget, Islands in the Stream for Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton.

Something I can’t get otherwise.

So I found a guy recommended by my luthier who does refin’s about 15 minutes from me.
They range from 250-400 for a body repaint, or strip and refin.

Since I’m putting back to together my black J, I found it appropriate to do this to the HS, in nitro.
For 50 bucks, he did beyond such a precise and clean job.

Basses are gonna get dinged.
I don’t care, if it’s from playing it.
Only from carelessness is when it’s a drag.

They were undeniably talented people who had been in the industry since they were (little) kids!
