Dreamed of playing bass since the mid-1980's. Didn't own a bass until last Autumn when I scored a free IbanezSG300 at a garage sale.

Began weekly lessons almost 6 months ago. Last month I figured I'd treat myself to a birthday bass as I was sticking to lessons and learning.

It was going to be a Fender P-bass or the Thunderbird. My teacher and I agreed on the P-bass would be a good choice.

The Thunderbird just appealed to me in a fun and cool looking way! This is my Epiphone Thunderbird '64 in Silver Mist.

Good choice. A Thunderbird can sound like a Precision, only bigger. A Precision will not be able to do what a Thunderbird can do.

I'll listen with buds later, but via the Macbook speakers I was a little surprised they sounded that similar. I didn't go back and forth and a second listen may not yield the same results, but the first go was impressive. If you wanted to get even closer to original, DTFs or GHS Precision flats.

That's bout right. More correct than they likely knew. I always thought people used the term to sound important (busy). It's funny that was such a go to hip think for maybe two decades but now has enough studies that it's been debunked and proven to actually produce significantly less productivity and additional errors from interruptions.

Yeah, been on the fence a while now with that 3 pick up idea.
Still don’t know where I sit with it right now, thinking of removing the neck position ThunderBucker.
I’ve been so wrapped up in the FSO’s lately…….
