Thunderbird Club

The Epi '64 is a little bigger than the previous Vintage Pro (Indonesia built) ones, both are a little bigger than any Gibson Reverse, nowhere near as beefy as the 2021 Gibson Non Reverse. Are they playable? Yes.

Ember Red with a black painted headstock.

Thanks! That closeout inverness is really tempting, but deep down I know I'd always wish it was white or ember red. Maybe I should just wait...

This will be sort of shocking to many of you, but I think I'm satisfied with my Classic Pro Epi Thunderbird.

Now, if I run into one that's sleeker, lighter, is little more trad looking than mine with the three-point bridge (claw tailpiece and separate bridge) and still delivers the belly-backed punch/crunch up top that my Classic delivers, I could be enticed and won. But, I can lean my narrow, light-on-girth frame into this ergos-friendly plank and dig up dirt and gold out of it. With it I can hold up the blues and power the rock song, play a gnarly, melody-laced solo (as I'm able 🥳🤪) and beat a complex time figure into submission. It's got a voice that's fun to lay a swirly line on the table with, and makes the savage beast want to sit and engage with polite company.
So if it could do all that, I'd want another I suppose. But otherwise, I'm happy to walk with what I've got...

I know I'm now asking for it, there's a Greco looming nearby, I know it.
*Sigh*...
I heard that Mike! 😂

TPF I think the shark was killed by something else, a larger shark most likely, and washed up on shore. The dingo is probably just getting a free lunch. Oh, and I think those snakes are actually copulating, not fighting.

Does that make it better?

PS: I think that is Fraser Island, a large sand island off the coast of Queensland. Which does have a problem with packs of aggressive dingos, and is surrounded by a shark superhighway.
The dingos have been known to attack people now.
But it is a holiday destination for campers and 4wdrivers.
Nah, not better. Everything in Oz really is trying to kill you. Having swum with lots of sharks by now, I'm a little more concerned about the two legged scary fauna that's always trying to kill you. Usually by excess amounts of barbecue and beer.

Yeah. Neither can I. I have chased and passed on what were otherwise good deals when the bass exceeded about 9 1/2 pounds. The older and more frail I’m getting, the more it matters.
I don't actually know how much any of my instruments of any kind weigh.
There's some colors that would look really good on a Thunderbird right there. Some that wouldn't. Somebody gets paid to come up with the names of those colors. I want that job.

I have a spare Greco …

Never heard of them.
I have never heard of them here. Possibly an individual (or maybe a single small business) that moved here from San Diego. First location seems to have opened 8 yrs ago. It's not impressive and near UofL. Must have been doing well enough (once here anyway) to open two locations in really nice parts of town. The one I was at also had a drive through that was backed up all during lunch time.

That is a great picture of you and the Birds! I am waiting for a flight to New Orleans and hoping both me and my luggage arrive. Departure delayed, shortening transfer time in Denver.
Going to break away from conference for a little tourist time. Anyone have any suggestions for great shops, clubs or restaurants in the Big Easy?
Take care folks, enjoy the change of seasons.
