Rats. Beat me to it.The first AHEM of the day.
I like when that happened on the Simpsons. My senior year of high school, a local sheriff’s department made a huuuge pot bust. They announced the date & location they would burn it to rid the planet of this batch of evil weed, so good folk could avoid it (or come watch upwind). Every pothead within 50 miles checked the weather and got as close as they dared downwind. By all accounts it was quite a party. All the freaks in my classes were out “sick” that day.
I appreciate them, but never wanted one. I can say this about a number of basses.Once upon a time, I wanted an Alembic. Not so much now. I'm pretty happy with what I already have.
Another reason I'm a heretic who should be banned.
We stumbled on a small grow while backpacking about ten years ago. We were off the main trail taking a shortcut to a creek in Sequoia Nat’l Forest. We did not go back that way. We did catch us a couple goldens.George is right. There are some places you don't want to go (wander into). The phrase "Fool Around and Find Out" does fit in certain parts. Much of it now is weed being grown. My FIL once found a patch on his farm. State Police came and burned it.
And played Dead CDs. Weird.
I’m sorta there. Not really planning anything, although still have a couple wants. But nothing I can’t live without. For me it’s kind of a peaceful feeling. Is anyone else done with GAS? It only took me 28 years. It's kind of a melancholic feeling, don't look at the classifieds, no anticipation of a new purchase. It's a little bit like something is missing.
But with 2 Gibsons at home (1997 Thunderbird, 1969 EB3) 2 at practice (2014 Thunderbird and SG), 2 Dingwalls, a Roscoe, VP, ThunderJ, ThunderP, and a few others I've had put together, it's an embarrassment of riches, and really there's nothing more I could ask for, and no needs unmet. I do feel lucky.
I learned about that in western North Carolina. My grandmother lived in North Wilkesboro, and we would go up to a place called Brushy Mountain to hike around. My brother and I stumbled on a still somewhere on Brushy Mountain and decided that we were not going to stay there and investigate. I was probably 8 or so at the time. My brother would have been almost 6.Word to the wise when hiking in the Kentucky backwoods - stick to the official trails, if you wander off into the woods and find something you’re not supposed to find it might be the last time you ever do that.![]()
"... just until I need glasses?"There are other, more pleasant ways to go blind![]()
No, but that's due to the alternate construction of the acronym. Is anyone else done with GAS? It only took me 28 years. It's kind of a melancholic feeling, don't look at the classifieds, no anticipation of a new purchase. It's a little bit like something is missing.

Anyone have a guess on this pup? I didn't recognize it and briefly searched major brands and nothing turned up.
May be shooting for something like this when finished. Maybe. Maybe a II maybe a IV. Minus the distressed look.
No routs under the PG, so may leave it off.

Pretty much there as well. I have way too many basses and amps and really do need to start flipping some gear. There is always something that is going to catch my eye, but I don't feel the need to buy them right now. Clearly I have lost my mind.Is anyone else done with GAS? It only took me 28 years. After more searching an looking at ebay, looks like one of these. If it sounds anything close to marginally good, I'll faint! Good vintage replacement.Possibly a Lawrence pu.
Didn't know you could get any pup for the price of an Arby's.Sweet!!
You see those pickups in a lot of Strats, but not sure I've seen one in a bass before. Hopefully it sounds good! After more searching an looking at ebay, looks like one of these. Cool. I like the preset feature. One reason I like the M6 Carbine. Very handy.
Just watching this documentary on the history of Kustom amps- thought some of you might enjoy this-
