Thunderbird Club

Yes, I got an email response yesterday and so far I've not seen any.
They are very aware of the issue, as they have a banner at the top of the support pages about it. I got a popup a little while ago and reported it. If you get one, a screenshot, time of day, and what page you were on are good things to provide in your bug report.

There are some vintage basses like the Ampeg I would very much like to own but they are out of my price range. A sorta' replica luckily doesn't interest me beyond acknowledgment. An early '60s Burns of London Bison bass is another. The brand has been bought & sold a number of times and they made a sorta' kinda' version of it more recently but I feel the same way about it. The original is the only version I would love to own.

Especially an uber rare white Bison bass...

I am not much of a purist that way. If it is a replica or original means little to me as long as it is not a fake. The real proof is function. Does it feel and sound good? If the answer to those questions is yes, then it is good, at least to me. There are vintage bass guitars that kinda suck, too. It is a practical thing. I can certainly see why you especially would not be very enthusiastic about copies. There is no right answer.

Yes, as with much in life... it's subjective and I respect everyone's take on such.

Just watched Chris Stapleton on ACL from sometime in 2025(?). A bit disappointed JT only played the TBird on 3-4 songs.:(
That sounds about right when we saw them. He's a Pbass guy at heart, but likes other basses for various things. If I never encountered Thunderbirds I would be as well. Something special about a good Pbass and flats. If I had no Thunderbird that's where I'd spend most of my time.

I've heard good things about Eastwoods.
I have an Eastwood fretless EUB Ampeg style bass. Bought it used at a decent price and added a TB+ pickup under the pup cover. It’s not a bad bass at all, as good as most of my Eppi Tbirds in sound and build quality and costs about the same. It’s an interesting and different look and not so far off of a NR body shape that it can’t scratch my fretless Tbird itch…
