Geeze - by 1986 I had already been engaged 4 times, married twice, divoriced once, had two kids in school and had bought my third house - and I wasn't even 30 yet.![]()

Yeah, I was a wild child, lived a very full life before turning 30 and then decided to calm it down a bit. I'm still amazed I survived my teens and twentys. I'm even more amazed that none of my 3 kids ever pulled any of the stupid insane stunts I did, they are angels by comparison as are the grand kids.Live fast, die young, leave a good looking corpse!![]()
Hard to imagine you as a jeans & T-shirts typeIn 1986 I started design school at The Art Institute of Seattle............
I looked and dressed like Slash from G-n-R.
The owner of the music school my kids go to. Great guy that's super supportive of my kids and their rock n roll dreams. Lots of leftie gear hanging on the walls in his school.
Here he is playing with my kids on an open mic night that he hosts with his band at our local bar and grill that has live music.
This video is from last Thursday.
I loved the Sammy years too and I have to respectfully disagree. 5150 came out in '86, my junior year of HS. It was a great summer and that was the soundtrack for it.
Into the 'once was Pro IV' ?Thunderbucker 66S, trim ring and spacer delivered and installed. The initial impression is it sounds slighhtly different - probably because it's neck through 'mahogany' not 6-screw maple and poplar.
It's all beautiful & super cool & everything, but alas... I am doomed to a future that does not include an actual Gibson Thunderbird.
The necks are just too thin. I'm a big guy with bad hands. I gotta have a tree trunk to hold on to. I got lucky & found a Korean Epi 'bird that'll get me where I gotta go for nowHell... I like it better than the original!and here is something you don't see everyday:

I have one of those Marshall's, but that Ampeg one looks awesome too! Looks homemade but still awesome!
I'm partial to the Hercules style hangers with the locking system.
No Thunderbird content, but a cool video about Tye Trujillo playing with Korn this year in South America.
