Back in the late 60's -I saw a local trio (drums, B3, bass) where the bass player played a Tele bass through a 360 and I wanted that rig! There was no way I could afford one (I think they were around $1000 new) and my high-school 'combo' never played huge spaces anyway. (I had a servicable Heathkit 2X15 Solid State amp-it sounded like crap but what did I know back then?) When Acoustic did the more recent RI - it was still out of my price range and the clubs I play are very manageable with a 2X10 or 4X10 cab, and besides where would I have space to store that monster? So it's one of those "admire from afar" kinda things.

It's sort of like me having no business with an 8x10 in a studio apartment......

Space can always be made, get rid of the "good china" cabinet, there's space for a 360/361, get rid of your fridge and put an Ampeg 'Fridge in that spot. Pictures on the wall are a waste of Thunderbird space, get more wall hangers for more Thunderbirds. Space can always be made

But, in all seriousness, I am looking for a cabinet (and head). I'm currently leaning toward one of these:

It accomplishes a couple of goals. The neighbours will be horrified to see that coming in and some heads would explode out in the general population.

But I will get at least one of those refrigerators too. Gotta keep the beer cool.

I have one of those Marshall's, but that Ampeg one looks awesome too! Looks homemade but still awesome!
I'm partial to the Hercules style hangers with the locking system.

I played on this album "My Heart is Bleeding" in 1980 right after joining Eddie's band. He passed away in '85. Eddie was the guitarist for Jimmy Reed in the 50's and a really sweet man. He was a religious man and never touched a drop of alcohol. I always thought it was because Jimmy Reed drank himself to death.

I'm a big Freddie King fan! I especially enjoy his live stuff. He really poured himself into his shows, and his band rocked harder, and grooved harder than pretty much all of the other straight Blues bands up to that point. IMHO, he was a cornerstone in the evolution of the Blues. I have a couple of his shows on VHS that I really need to get converted to digital.

I'm a big Freddie King fan! I especially enjoy his live stuff. He really poured himself into his shows, and his band rocked harder, and grooved harder than pretty much all of the other straight Blues bands up to that point. IMHO, he was a cornerstone in the evolution of the Blues. I have a couple of his shows on VHS that I really need to get converted to digital.

Ok so last night I gave my Thunderbird Club, Family, Gang or Cult a video that was not very pleasing on the senses, it was missing a little flair and wee tad of zing and pop factor. I will try to redeem with one of my all time favorite bands. I do apologize for the non Bird content. Crank it!

I really have nothing else to do right now, so I'm gonna make some random comments about yer boyz here.
First of all... it's obvious that the word "progressive" in your name, is to be taken seriously!

If there's ever a retrospective filmed about this band... Bill Hader needs to be the drummer (watch the first few seconds of the video again with that in mind. You'll fall outa yer chair!).

The bass player has a magnificent "touch"!

The combined weight of everyone in the band, is only slightly more than mine alone. Somebody needs to bring them a sandwich platter!

Though he never lets it show in his playing... the guitar player looks like he's friggin' wasted, and searching for a corner in a large circular room!

I've never been much of a prog guy, but I've been listening to a lot of Jazz lately, and have made an observation that makes sense in my mind (and perhaps nowhere else). The 2 have quite a bit in common, but Prog has sharp corners... Jazz has rounded edges.

You know, I am finding myself in the GP threads less and less every day. I just inadvertently wandered into a sandbox scuffle between several kids about exposed pole vs covered pole pickups. My goodness, the trifles that consume bandwidth when you Have nothing substantive to discuss are amazing. Of course, after reading a couple of pages I felt compelled to interject some common sense into the discussion.
I doubt it will make any difference. If there's one thing that can be said about the GP on TB it's that many of those members have brains like Sakrete - all mixed up and permanently set.

Ok Kat - finally got a chance to play the clips through my bass cab today. On your last posting (the one with the two examples recorded together one right after the other) I like the first one best, it's a bit richer and fuller sounding without getting too flabby on the bottom or to sharp on the top. I also got a chance to hear your bass in the mix on recording 1234 (LOL - there's a creative name) and I loved it. It was just as I wanted it to be, with a solid bass in the mix that was present but not overbearing. Much better than listening thru my iPad, which completely eliminated the bass.

Maybe, but I think I would need to gouge out some of the surrounding wood in order to get the pliers to have a grasp. I'll take a look though. I always do a pilot hole, but I guess it wasn't quite big enough this time, plus I'm thinking a rather weak screw give how easily it snapped.


Maybe try using one of these to back the broken screw out;

Though it's way more obvious which is the better pickup in this comparison, it actually made me feel a lot better about the Chinabuckers. Of course my preference lies with the Thunderbuckers... but I live in the Chinabucker financial bracket. I was expecting a weaker, thinner sound outa the "cheap import". It's nice to know that I can get that good of a T-bird tone on a budget!
