Thunderbird Club

This is the same thing again, Thunderbucker followed by Chinabucker. Think maybe the interface was on the wrong setting or something this morning. Everything is much clearer this time around.

Seems to be quite a difference between the two...

Welp, went to move the strap button, and the screw sheared off as I was putting it in. Fantastic, now I can't add one where I wanted it centered on the heel and I have a bloody hole in the finish. Oh well, I guess it'll get covered if and when I eventually get it refinished.

You didn't drill a pilot hole first?

You know, I am finding myself in the GP threads less and less every day. I just inadvertently wandered into a sandbox scuffle between several kids about exposed pole vs covered pole pickups. My goodness, the trifles that consume bandwidth when you Have nothing substantive to discuss are amazing. Of course, after reading a couple of pages I felt compelled to interject some common sense into the discussion.
I doubt it will make any difference. If there's one thing that can be said about the GP on TB it's that many of those members have brains like Sakrete - all mixed up and permanently set.

And the GP in general just doesn't have any sense of humor at all, what a bunch of stiffs.

In the spirit of the 70's…

Yes I did use the wagon to go pick it up.
Beautiful! I keep thinking I have no reason to consider getting an old Acoustic. But then I see posts like this and think I have to find one. It must be my subconscious desire to return to my youth. Hmmmm, match that beauty with a Vintage Pro...

That pickup cover thread was worse than the Cosmopolitans. Jeez. Didn't those people have to take physics in high school? I pretty much only venture into the music related threads these days and some of the theory discussions where I might learn something useful. Otherwise I stay here where it's safe.

Not only is it safe, but just my opinion, is just about any subject can be covered here. These days, if I stray, is mainly more to solidify this is where I belong.

Kat - looking forward to trying this one directly into my bass cab. Won't get a chance for a few more hours since the rest of the house is still in bed. Thanks for going to the trouble of a second take and post, I really find these types of comparisons helpful in making gear and component choices.
Cheers!

Yep. I've learned a ton from you all. Not only about Birds, but other things as well. Even when I unwittingly got into a bit of a tussle a while back over my (admittedly sometimes irrational) devotion to Neil, I Felt like we were just hanging out, having beers and shots, and giving each other some good natured s**t. And if things do start sounding a bit snarky, our queen steps in with a firm, but gentle hand to quash it.

Back in the late 60's -I saw a local trio (drums, B3, bass) where the bass player played a Tele bass through a 360 and I wanted that rig! There was no way I could afford one (I think they were around $1000 new) and my high-school 'combo' never played huge spaces anyway. (I had a servicable Heathkit 2X15 Solid State amp-it sounded like crap but what did I know back then?) When Acoustic did the more recent RI - it was still out of my price range and the clubs I play are very manageable with a 2X10 or 4X10 cab, and besides where would I have space to store that monster? So it's one of those "admire from afar" kinda things. :)

Ok so last night I gave my Thunderbird Club, Family, Gang or Cult a video that was not very pleasing on the senses, it was missing a little flair and wee tad of zing and pop factor. I will try to redeem with one of my all time favorite bands. I do apologize for the non Bird content. Crank it!

I like the bass players playing - :bassist:

It's sort of like me having no business with an 8x10 in a studio apartment......
