Since we're going to roll over to 1993....
After living in the greater Los Angeles area since 1985, The most bizarre set of events led up to my first move to Portland Oregon. But these events I dare not share here. Nothing illegal, just extremely bizarre is all I can say.

This was discussed with the luthier when the instrument went in, but 1. in his considered opinion it was not necessary (and he reserved the right to change his mind once the neck was straightened out), 2. it would have cost more than the bass.

Definitely worth it when getting a gorgeous custom built premium bass from a grumpy bugger what lives in a swamp ... not so much on the dust covered runt of the litter which has been languishing on a sale rack after some clown dropped it on its head.

The weird thing is -- and this is going to get all @Gaolee for a moment (gidday Will!) -- the NR41 sounds red and the Epi sounds deep, dark and rich, like proper 90% dark chocolate (not that pale stuff that smells like sick).

Nice! Or should I say yummy?

Who cares, I want the white Spector. Always had a crush on those, almost picked up a couple different ones in the classifieds here, but never pulled the trigger.
Wish I had now, what with the rosewood issues, scares me to bring one into Canada.

$200-$375 around here. The latter being Alex Lifeson's luthier I believe.

The Zombiecaster got a full refret and setup for $300, and the price of life in Seattle is pretty high, relative. There's a Kat hairball getting coughed up around here somewhere. Trying to avoid stepping on it.

A good portion of it is in flames.............At least the smoke is drifting east again!

HALLELUJAH and all that. We even got a little drippage. Not exactly rain, but at least it cleared the air a bit. When the sun came up, it was a normal color, not some post-apocalyptic Mad Max orange.

No need to share the details. Just be happy that bizarre proves you belong here with the rest of us. Proof positive that you are a 'Bird person, even though you are a 'Bird in waiting person for the time being.

If I had to guess I'd say that's probably buckeye Burl not spalted maple. I love both, but you're right, it looks out of place on a TBird body. Flame maple with a red dye and gloss coat would look awesome though.

Agreed! Or even the Heritage Cherry.

Non Thunderbird content. Making noise and getting paid. My wife took this one. Bass player looking at what? Who knows. It might have been right after landing from jumping around and trying to figure out what I was supposed to be doing. Jumping on that stage was iffy, and there wasn't enough room to spin the bass at all.

Yes, and yes - on Ballard Avenue more or less behind the U-Haul place on Leary Way. It was at the Maritime Pacific Brewery. We had a complete blast. The audience seemed happy enough, but as usual, we had more fun than they did.

Anyone have solid recommendations for setup/fret-leveling/re-frets in LA? I'm sure the price will be a bitter pill to swallow, but I gotta get my Precision back in tip top shape.
