I remember the change doing high school athletics. 100 y to 100 m but for a while there were random sightings of 110 y races. I didn't like them.It amuses me to no end that when Canada went metric in the 70s, it was decided that a Canadian football field would be changed from 100 yards to 100 metres. The Canadian football league then also decided to continue to measure in yards, so the field is 110 yards long with a 55 yard line in the center.
A Tad is a unit of subjectivity, relevant to the relative weight of import of the moment, as compared to when one is not engaged with that particular context. See "Skosh", "Smidgeon" (thanks Kat).So then what's a tad?
So then what's a tad?
A tad more than a smidgeon.
Oh, an iota?
I thought Tad was the name of an American frat boy.
They should embrace coming in here. People who wander in find out truth, reality, and how to make a bass sound like it should. The staff probably had a little sit down with @TBird1958, they explained that they're to afraid to come here and mod.
There is a bunch of them - Tad, Brad, TreyBrad. You meant Brad.

Photo please ... then prepare thyself for the ritual with the wet lettuce and the tightly furled umbrella.
I can get fairly thumpy out of the 2015 by rolling off the tone, keeping the neck at about 9 and the bridge at about 2. Neck full humbucker mode and bridge tapped. That gets about as close to thumpy as possible with a 'Bird. It's not P with dead flats thumpy, but then the strings aren't dead flats. They are HiBeams, which are non-thumpy. Point being, don't sell a 'Bird short. They can do a whole lot more than they get credit for.@Cardinal Fang -- there's absolutely nothing stopping you from adding a tone pot to your Bird should you want one, however a Thunderbird is such a full range sounding bass (not muddy) it's unlikely you'd ever use it. Perhaps on a brighter, thinner sounding bass with less bottom end you might need something to tame the gank.
With the amp turned up a bit, both my single pickup Birds can go from warm to snarly big-angry-piano™ just by varying the attack. They don't really do 'thumpy' -- for that you should try an Epi EB3L 'SG' or one of the Jack Casady basses.
Only after too many pints.... well. Does the US system include units such as the rod, perch and chain?
Only in Texas. Everything's big in Texas. I'm in Texas at the moment. And, I'm bigger. That's just how it works.Less than, unless US yards are different
I'm not aware of a stock Seymour Duncan drop in replacement for a TBird pickup. They do make custom pups. I'd assume a custom would cost a skosh more, in which case it might be worth it. But if it's Boo-Coo bucks more then probably not worth it.Someone mentioned a Seymor Duncan T-Bird p'up a tad back...

I'm not aware of a stock Seymour Duncan drop in replacement for a TBird pickup, but for a skosh more money I'd bet they would do a custom pup.
They do, from the custom shop if I'm not mistaken.
