Every police detective/undercover agent in our city drove those, sure the suited men inside them meant business but they were no match for a high speed pursuit, laughable actually.

Exactly. The state troopers eventually got smart and got Mustang LX 5.0s with manual transmissions. Not much could outrun them I’d guess. Probably awesome power to weight ratio.

Crown Vics were pretty fast for such a big car. Of course, the cop ones always had the biggest engines they came with. My parents had a '95 T-bird with the same engine, and that thing could really go.

But it got to the point where at night I could recognize the exact shape of Crown Victoria headlights in the rear view mirror.
