It would be pretty badass to see a bass player playing live with their amp on fire.

Well, I wasn't playing live but my bass amp was on fire once... problem being so was the entire club! New Year's Eve '85, we had set up the night before, I arrived at the club early NYE to see it fully engulfed in flames, Fire Dept. fighting the fire and my bandmates standing across the street with the look of shock on their faces. Here's a photo of us standing on what was the stage the next day and another of me with my bass amp/cab after we had recovered what we could and hauled it back to our practice room. Not one of our better gigs...

It was that or cry, which we probably got out of the way the night before! In truth, I actually made out at the end of the day. I bought the LabSeries L4 used from a friend for $350, insured it for $1200.00. Insurance paid in full and for $300 out of pocket I had a brand new Marshall 3540 400w bass stack. Downside being our guitarist called it a day after the fire and it took us until April to replace him and back out steady gigging.

I just got back from shopping, they had a huge blowout sale on the letter "T" so I pick up a truck load of them. Feel free to use as many as you like

I have to learn not to be on at the club, while on the iphone riding the subway. I read these two posts, and let out two separate bursts of maniacal laughter.
Needless to say, i got some weird looks. I was today's crazy person on the train.

I had a cap explode in an amp once. It stopped making noise. When I opened it up to see what happened, there was a cloud of smoke and furry bits of what was once a huge cap inside. Replaced the cap and no other issues with that one. Bad cap I guess. Nothing visually exciting either.

No, electrical that started up in the ceiling but they never determined the source. Started near a ceiling vent.

Well, last night was my first rehearsal using the Hipshot on my classic pro, and I have to say I was pretty much amazed at the difference.
Sustain has increased exponentially and so has the sensitivity of the strings. Where I was previously having to hammer songs out to get the attack I wanted, I can now go much gentler and get the same effect but with far greater accuracy and articulation. All in all, £89 very well spent

I had a similar revelation when I put a Babicz bridge on my 2014 t-bird. I found it really improved the play-a-bility overall as well as the tone. I have no ill-will towards the 3 point bridge. I just like the replacement better.
