Yup. It makes you very attractive to cats.I love the irony in that being Kiss were the band that brought Rush into the spotlight to begin with. Gotta give some credit to the left handed cigarette for sure, can be quite influential.

Dude I really dont know anything about these basses, I just found the picture and got stuck staring at them for minutes.........again. Maybe its better I dont know about them as I think owning 4 basses is more than enough, not really but you know.
I was explaining that to my band as Meisha the cat raced out to greet me.

The controls seem intuitive enough to me but I guess some people don't think so.
Btw, didn't someone on here get a bright Cherry 2018 Thunderbird? Did they give any kind of review?

I did a review. It's a great bass and it's identical to my '13 in terms of sound/quality. Other than the usual backwards wired pots I have zero issue with it. I can't compare to older Thunderbirds since they never made em lefty but I own Spectors so I know what good quality Is.

One of the first times I saw Rush, they opened for KISS at Seattle's Paramount Theater (seats 3000), being a idiot teenager I did not bring any sort of ear protection and enjoyed the show from about 8 rows back..............Ears rang for days after that.
Please remind me about the pots and backwards wiring and what the problem is.
Well I'm lefty. Pots should turn up when turned towards the headstock for lefty and righty. Gibson always seem to wire the pots for a righty so they turn up by turning towards the bridge. The fix is simple, reverse the outer 2 lugs. One is soldered to the pot case the other is the wire out from the pickup. I've had 3 Gibson Thunderbirds, all we're like this. It's just annoying to me to have 1 backwards bass even more backwards. I install kill switches in my stage basses so I was on there anyway. I might be pissed if I had to pay to have it corrected.
I think they assemble the wiring harness prior to install, and when installing them, they just get the next one in the bin. But still something that shouldn't happen on an instrument of that level!
Thanks. I guess I just never put much thought into it, as long as all the knobs turned the same way. But I certainly appreciate wanting them to turn in a proper direction.
Well, for $2k hell no it should not, BUTTTTT, I SPENT $2400 on my first custom spector and guess what? No case, no bag!!! I couldn't believe it. Gibson not only includes what I'd figure to be a $200 case, they also included a strap, multi tool and even a picture of it on the bench @ Gibson
NOW, if I can just find a white falcon bass!!!
My first Rush show was also opening for KISS, Spring '75. KISS were touring on Dressed To Kill and I think Rush was in between Fly By Night and Caress Of Steel.
Now that I'm thinking about it, at least the way that they do that, they don't need to make new knobs that have 0-10 going the other way. So I think it's also a cost cutting thing in that sense.
