Honestly?. Since my strap has seriously tough leather with tightly squeezed openings for the pin I shouldnt have to worry about it being locked but I use a simple insurance measure that can be found on one of my favorite beer brands bottles. See that red seal right beneath the cap?. Magic!. Locks over the pin tight and you enjoy a great beer!.

I use Dunlop Dual Design Straplocks. Never had an issue with them but I have had Schaller straplocks come apart on me. YMMV

I’ve had both come apart on me. Was just curious if something seemed particularly good on a ‘Bird, since the front mount would be a bit different than an FSO. Thanks for the input!

I don't think I've ever seen a Grolsch bottle in person.

I have about 1000 Grolsch bottles saved in storage for my (long dormant) homebrow hobby, but the rubber seals have certainly all gone bad. Other than that, bleach and steam them, buy new rubber, good as new. Maybe when I retire... ... nothing like sipping your own homebrew 14% imperial stout barleywine out of a nice cold Grolsch bottle. Mmmmmm. A pint of that stuff puts one sideways facedown fast.

On the whole straplock thing, when i was gigging, never used em. For some reason, just didn't need them. As far as practicing while standing, the strap i use has really tight, small holes. Was rather difficult just to get it over the strap buttons. My Bird really doesn't lean forward either, so the strap is a tight fit, and stays put.

That’s good! I don’t really sweat it much except when I’m the front person. Even then I don’t sweat it too much

Wonder what it is about forums that makes folks fight in such a nasty way over nothing? Interesting that most of the ‘clubs’ don’t really suffer from that as bad.

I don't get it either. Must be some sort off competition thing. There are some threads that start of pretty good and have the potential to offer something, but for the most part, they all go down hill right away. Well not all of them.

I don't think it has anything to do with the forums, just people that get, a) Mob mentality, "everyone says the P-bass is the best, so it must be the best", and/or b) Keyboard warriors, that just wanna piss people off.

Its a good idea to "don’t always stress much". I cant recommend it.

It's a natural state for some of us. No stress, just happy, type A impatience. There's joy in fidgeting. That has nothing to do with strap-locks. It's why I don't have 'em and why I probably need 'em.

I suppose it’s really just social media in general. On a typical social media outlet, I avoid politics or faith. Those are conversations best had in person with folks.

There’s a bunch of threads I avoid on TB. Say there’s a thread about wiring onboard preamps or multiscale basses. I can’t offer anything there as I tend to love four string, passive basses. I’d just be a drag to those folks by saying I don’t like what they like, so I move on to what I do like. Or maybe I can offer positive advice on something elsewhere.

Now that I think about it, the '91 has Schaller strap locks, not Dunlop. They are a royal pain on a 'Bird, because that little knob that you pull out to release the lock sticks out in an unfortunate way. Dunlops would be better. Maybe this is the incentive I needed to make the swap. I find that Schallers bind up a bit at times, too. Dunlops are a bit more reliable, in my experience.

That’s the thing, though. Why does the medium bring out the worst in some folks? I’d wager a lot of ‘trolls’ are possibly decent folks in ‘real life.’
