Thunderbird Club

I thought you were gonna drink the beer, then sell just the washers? Can't sell a bottle of beer if the beer is gone.
See, now you know and my strategy is out. I was gonna drink the beer and sell the washers. This was going to be my personal and financial success story. My washers wouldnt have "Fender" engraved in them therefore they could be used by all bass manufacturers.

...
One of these years, I would like to try an active bass with a good preamp. I would like to try a bass with an extra string or two someday, too. Unfortunately, life is too short to get everything done, so it probably won't happen. In this universe, I'm finally getting the finish done on the P-Bird and Tele-Bird. I put too much pigment in the poly, which means it's an opaque finish now. Oh, well. At least it's finally coming out OK. I have sanded off about a zillion coats because it looked crummy or had a run somewhere. There are a few thin spots, and I'm having a tough time with the edges. It's all brush work, since I'm not planning to do this again, and there's no point in spending money on a spray rig that will only get used once. Time is free when it's free time. At any rate, I put a few drops of green in the red to tone it down just a hair, but it's coming out pretty close to KatBird red. I think it looks pretty good, even though it wasn't what I had in mind at first. Proof of something or another.
See you at the next GTG :D or hit me up when you're near north Beacon Hill with a few minutes to kill :bassist:

Sorry to say, but you released your own strategy yesterday. :roflmao:
I'm not saying don't go for it, just know that you have a big name competitor

Phase 1 - Drink Beer
Phase 2 - ???
Phase 3 - Profits

I have about 1000 Grolsch bottles saved in storage for my (long dormant) homebrow hobby, but the rubber seals have certainly all gone bad. Other than that, bleach and steam them, buy new rubber, good as new. Maybe when I retire... ... nothing like sipping your own homebrew 14% imperial stout barleywine out of a nice cold Grolsch bottle. Mmmmmm. A pint of that stuff puts one sideways facedown fast. :)
I missed this post before adressing the same topic but I could not agree more.....

Idk, ProgressiveDoom sounds like a big name to me.
Its gotta sound sophisticated, like someone put forth a real and genuine effort in bringing a serious product to market. When you see the name you instantly want to take your childs college funds out of the bank if thats what it takes just to own a fragment of the company's offerings. Gotta be able to trust that your money is well spent.

Try to keep it on the sunny side :)

That’s the thing, though. Why does the medium bring out the worst in some folks? I’d wager a lot of ‘trolls’ are possibly decent folks in ‘real life.’
IMHO... the anonymity of an online presence, gives people the opportunity to let their true colors show through with no real threat of repercussion in the "real world". I think that reading those harsh, unproductive, mean posts... gives us a peak at the person typing them. Before I hooked up with this club, I read a NBD posting from somebody I believe to have been a kid, who was all excited cuz he'd just gotten his first bass. It was some cheap import model (don't recall the brand). Among the usual advice and congratulatory postings, was this a-hole who just couldn't resist the opportunity to talk about what a POS it was, and tell him he shoulda saved his money and bought a "real" bass. He went out of his way, to piss all over this kids first New Bass Day, and his first bass. Really makes you wonder about some of the people with whom we have to share this planet. :rollno:
