Considering how comparatively cheap strap locks (and Loctite] are, you'd be crackers NOT to use them. Once they have been Loctited together, lock assemblies really shouldn't come apart, although it doesn't hurt to check on occasion.

IMHO... the anonymity of an online presence, gives people the opportunity to let their true colors show through with no real threat of repercussion in the "real world". I think that reading those harsh, unproductive, mean posts... gives us a peak at the person typing them. Before I hooked up with this club, I read a NBD posting from somebody I believe to have been a kid, who was all excited cuz he'd just gotten his first bass. It was some cheap import model (don't recall the brand). Among the usual advice and congratulatory postings, was this a-hole who just couldn't resist the opportunity to talk about what a POS it was, and tell him he shoulda saved his money and bought a "real" bass. He went out of his way, to piss all over this kids first New Bass Day, and his first bass. Really makes you wonder about some of the people with whom we have to share this planet. :rollno:

Yeah, I see that stuff a lot. Strange lack of empathy. Sometimes when threads start getting long, tangents start coming out and the folks are responding to the tangents rather than the OP. There was a recent thread where someone was asking for advice on how to get a tone described as ‘a cross between McCartney and Punk.’ Sure, that’s kinda dopey, but the person asking was a 13 year old boy. In light of that, it’s a pretty savvy question. Didn’t stop a bunch of folks from ripping the poor kid to shreds

It seems in any population there is a percentage of people who will become torturers, inquisitors, concentration camp guards, who cannot abide the fact that there may be even one person out there who is not exactly like them.

It's called "Product Displacement" which usually has to do with licensing fees and stuff, sometimes they just doesn't want to go through the hassle of asking the brand if they object to it, so they just blank it out from the start. Also sometimes the 'tv show' doesn't want to advertise a brand for free if they could get paid for it.
You see it a lot on laptops and vehicles on tv.

Yeah my old work in Edinburgh went absolutely mental for this FAST malarky. Management questioned me about my desktop wallpaper 'do you have a license'. 'I took the photo myself.' 'Do you have any proof of that?' 'Oh FVCK OFF!' If everyone, not just your subordinates, calls you 'Heinrich' behind your back, as in 'Himmler', you have to be a lovely bloke, eh?
