I believe that's true for dietary cholesterol. Blood cholesterol is still relevant to heart disease, no? Not that the two have anything much to do with each other - that's part of what (I think) was debunked - eating it doesn't put it in your blood. Eating sugar and sitting around does. (As I recall it at least.) Right?
Sort of. Blood cholesterol is highly overrated as an indicator of heart disease. Most of the 'evidence' is based on one study whose methodology is highly suspect when examined closely. Gary Taubes has done a lot of research, he's controversial, made a lot of enemies, but to me he makes sense.
The books were a real eye opener. I cut my minimal sugar intake to the amount that's in two 90% cocoa Lindt bars a week (10 grams each).Great article!
