Had the same problem, loved how the stock strings sounded on their own but hated how they refused to sit in a mix. Much much too bright for my tastes. Switched to DR Silver Strings (basically a Silver colored version of the Black Beauties). So far I'm liking them but they are low tension, not quite floppy but no where near as tight as the stock strings. They absoutly tame the top end and deliver the goods on the bottom end. Very little finger noise.

I was thinking some shiny silver strings might look awesome on my Pelham Blue NR. Kind of worried now about the tension being too loose for my liking.

Perry is delicious, as are dry ciders.

Being of peasant stock I find most IPAs and others / small brews much too ‘fancy pants’ for me.

My fave Oz beer is Coopers Pale Ale (nothing at all like an IPA) but I do love a Guinness- poss my favourite of all. I would go for a Kilkenny if it is on offer as well.

Don’t like the Peroni or Heineken beers.
