I have looked for Speights and there is none to be had. When I was in NZ last year I was drinking Emersons pilsner -- because it's from Dunedin.

And yes, I am absolutely that shallow. The bottle of pinot noir I had for Xmas/Boxing Day was from Otago, ie not 'pinot' but 'Otago pinot'.

People who are not from Dunedin pronounce it incorrectly, which is annoying. Foreigners also slaughter 'Otago'. I will be revenged upon them all.

"Otago" seems fairly tame compared to "Paekakariki", "Paraparaumu", and some of the other odd assortments of letters you Kiwi folk have decided were names

My word, the stock string on the Epi VP are bright. I'll need to get some Nickels onto that.

Had the same problem, loved how the stock strings sounded on their own but hated how they refused to sit in a mix. Much much too bright for my tastes. Switched to DR Silver Strings (basically a Silver colored version of the Black Beauties). So far I'm liking them but they are low tension, not quite floppy but no where near as tight as the stock strings. They absoutly tame the top end and deliver the goods on the bottom end. Very little finger noise.

Yes, I haven't tried mine with the band- it only arrived yesterday.
I thought they sounded OK but not my thing.

I think mine will get some Roto or Fender Nickels before much longer.
