Had a fun gig with Eskimo Brothers last night. Upright and electric. Used the Mesa D800 since it’s a doubling gig. Still my favorite class D amp I’ve ever owned so far. The ‘02 w/ Lollars was just silly good sounding. Cannot recommend those pickups highly enough

That was just something a fan took and posted on our Facebook. The club is Layla’s. One of the last clubs on Broadway in Nashville that still has an earthy, honky tonk feel to it. The backdrop makes it, I think. Country as cow sh!t

Interestingly, my first gig as a Nashville resident was at Layla’s...just shy of 20 years ago

Interesting idea about Yamaha. All I can add to that is that Yamaha is in so many areas of manufacturing and I can't think of any one they do poorly.

Motorcycles and guitars. Why not? They already to pianos very well. I'm imagining a Yamaha Thunderbird. It won't be a motorcycle. A Thunderbird with two wheels is a Triumph. Triumph is absolutely not going to buy Gibson.

Yamaha was founded as a musical instrument company - hence the logo being 3 tuning forks. The company was pressed into service producing engines etc during WWII and retained the capability and expanded into several related areas. But, at its heart, it is a musical instrument company.

Initiations are well lets say...... How do you think the Fixer got his moniker!

I always thought he was "the fixer" as in the Detroit version of Michael Clayton or Winston Wolf!

To answer your question, they are obviously somewhat similar amps. The 800+ offers a bit more by way of tone shaping, but it comes at the expense of slightly reduced headroom. Both are super nice amps. I’m perfectly happy with the regular D800, but the ability to fine tune mids on the 800+ is pretty cool

Weird, busy morning. Had two texts from industry pals. One is a boutique amp designer and the other, a very well known pickup manufacturer. Ran a couple tests for one and chatted about possible ideas for developments with another.
