Thunderbird Club

More crappy bass playing for you @GBassNorth! This has both basses set identically with the neck P/Ups dimed and the bridge P/UPs at 8-9. The tone pots are at 5. All amp settings are pointing north.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the NR has D’addario Medium Chrome Flats and the R has GHS Medium Black Tapewounds.

I did this one with @theFixer in mind. Hope you enjoy it Mike!

Love it! A little Offspring never hurt anybody (well, except Fixer - gotta keep em seperated) LOL.
The string selection makes a pretty big difference. I like the way the notes on the NR ring out and sustain even with flats. The R sounds great also, but personally I've never been that fond of GHS tapes. Too much thud and not enough bloom. I switched to La Bella Black tapes years ago and love them so much more than GHS. If you haven't tried them yet, give em a spin. But more important, excellent playing and thanks so much for reigniting my GAS attack for an NR.

Well, it's official. Rolling Stone has listed the 10 worst songs of the 1980's.
Did they miss one you think is worse?
Readers' Poll: The 10 Worst Songs of the 1980s

Here's the list...don't know if I agree with the order but it looks pretty complete...
10. Rick Astley - 'Never Gonna Give You Up'...
9. Taco - 'Puttin' On The Ritz'...
8. Toni Basil - 'Mickey'...
7. Bobby McFerrin - 'Don't Worry Be Happy'...
6. Falco - 'Rock Me Amadeus'...
5. Men Without Hats - 'The Safety Dance'...
4. Wham! - 'Wake Me Up (Before You Go Go)'....
3. Chris de Burgh - 'Lady In Red'....
2. Europe - 'The Final Countdown'...
1. Starship - 'We Built This City'...

Good news is, I don't recall any of these songs being recorded with Thunderbirds.

For a START, Convoy and Disco Duck definitely deserve to be in that bottom 10 more than some of the list.

Always here to enable. :D

Thanks for the compliment, G!

I know I’ll never be good enough to play out since I started too late in life but I have fun in my music room and sometimes I get to play music with my kids which to me is the best. They have really gotten pretty good and have left me in their dust but it makes me proud. :)

It sure should be that way. Californians are crazy, especially southern Californians. Up here in the Great North Wet, the dumpties are more predictable, which makes lane splitting a bit more relaxing.
You want unpredictable, you gotta see metro Nashville drivers. I grew up in deep, deep So Cal. Californians have nothin' on these clown car wanna be formula 1 drivers. Worse than Italy.

Don't try that "started too late in life" bullish!t with ME pal!!! You've obviously got the music in you! If you want it… you can have it! For REAL!!! It's only a dream, if that's all you want it to be:bassist::thumbsup:

I dated this gal in Cali, and the only thing of worth she ever said was, "Do your Dreams, otherwise, they turn into nightmares". I may not be one of the better players out there, but I know I'm not half bad.
