Thunderbird Club

I'd second that. I pride myself on being very open minded when it comes to trying and buying basses but I have yet to find a Hofner Beatle bass that I could bond with. Just don't like the feel or sound of it and I find the controls to be counter intuitive. Others get on with them just fine, like that guy from the '60s with the bowl haircut (Mc who's his face). Just not my cuppa I guess.
Maybe playing it lefty makes a difference?

I know there are those that say the NR isn't really a Thunderbird, but I tried both and the NR both hangs and sits better on my froggy little body,so that's what I got:D
It is said that the NR is more ergonomic than the reverse. I've owned both and have to agree. Plus they are more rare, so much so people refer to my NRs as "reverse Tbird" Funny and counterintuitive..

Think design philosophy, one is murican the other deutcsh. Unquestionably the Hofner is a higher quality instrument, but then so are many other basses I would prefer a Fender over..

I never really understood the Fender lawsuit on Gibson's Reverse Fbird claiming it infringed on the look of their Jazzmaster. To me the NRs look way more like a Jazzmaster...
They might have but the Thunderbird on the pickguard is right where their little switches and wheels go.

Pine core, masonite top and bottom...what's not to like? Oh, yeah, no trussrod, none needed.
I mighta done something wrong, but I sent an inquiry to ThunderBucker Ranch and haven't heard back. I'm not in a hurry,I just dunno if it went through. Any thoughts?(old fart, not all that great w/ this interweb thingy):help:

Steve usually replies promptly. Give it another try, if that doesn't work, pm me with your email address and I'll forward it.
