If I did that, I'd have a MASSIVE collection of greatest hits comps! I'm sure there must be more, but off the top o' my head, I can only think of 3 bands/artists that I picked up when they were new & popular. Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Black Crowes, and Jane's Addiction. Seems like there's a 15 year minimum waiting period before my brain develops a taste for most things. Even bands like STP, Breaking Benjamin, Clutch, Pantera & A7X... bands that, in terms of electric music, are "new"... it seems I either don't hear them, or don't develop an appreciation for them, until there's a thick coat of dust on 'em. It's not a conscious choice... I just don't select the music I'm gonna listen to, until it hits me the right way. I reckon I have slow ears...

It used to take about ten years for me. Now it's up to 15 or more.

Just out of curiosity, do anyone else other than me have a liking for "Best of" albums?

I like to have the actual albums on vinyl and best of on CDs for more general listening and housework bop around the house type thing

I have a couple for when I can’t decide...trying to think of which ones...I know I have a best of Bowie as well as Alice Cooper...probably others

Just out of curiosity, do anyone else other than me have a liking for "Best of" albums?

I like to have the actual albums on vinyl and best of on CDs for more general listening and housework bop around the house type thing

I find myself buying the "Greatest Hits" for bands that I may have missed adding into my collection when they were popular. I liked them then but didn't buy them at the time.

I'll use a greatest hits comp. or something from a boxed set when I wanna hear a specific artist or band, and can't decide which album to listen to. Usually, the best songs on a given album, were not "hits", so the compilations don't spend a lotta time in my ears.

I used to buy Best Of CDs from bands I've never heard before. If I liked more than a couple of their tracks I'd go out and buy some of their their CDs. That was all pre YouTube. Now I just stumble upon different artists on YouTube (many posted in this club) and if I like thier stuff after going down their rabbit hole a few videos I'll go out and buy their Best Of CD, and from there their other CDs if I'm still impressed.

In many ways this club has transformed my musical life and created an ever expanding universe (hold the Monty Python jokes) of musical entertainment. Hats off to all those that have posted their favorite tunes in this club. I'd bet that at least 80% of the stuff posted here is very much to my liking.

They are huge around these parts. They play a brand of Rancheras called Nortenas (northern) which also includes the Narco Corridos which involve the over the border drug trade and crime.
Polka based and kinda silly sounding but the bass and bass drum lock in fart tight. Not my taste in music but a good lesson on learning how to lock with the kick. They sound like 32 pounders..

Yeah! I've enjoyed pickin' up a lotta stuff here that I hadn't found previously. My favorite crumbs from this club have been Cactus & BBA! I'm mystified as to how I'd made it so far through life before hearing them!

Does the Badbird II need the tailpiece?

Yes. The original three point has very little string break angle, using the tail piece provides greater string break angle across tthe saddles and also prevents the string windings from resting on the saddles.

Well, they do have two open As that are commonly plucked together..

Almost all 60's Thunderbirds will not intonate on the upper register due to limited travel of the saddles or it being installed on the wrong spot, either description gives you the same result. I designed and manufactured the first Badbird bridge in 1983. I started manufacturing in 2003
The Badbird installs without modification " intonation without modification " is my mantra. The Badbird has been accepted by collectors and professionals alike. You might recognize this guy .View attachment 3001275
