Scotland has English, Scots aka Doric (the language of Robert Burns), and that dreadful incomer languade they speak on the uncivilised West side and associated islands.
My ancestral tongues -- Norn (the Scandi dialect of the Northern Isles) and the language(s?) of the Picts -- are lost or dead.
The wife (who is a past Grand Champion rider in Kentucky Saddle Seat competition) has informed me she wants to get back into competitive horse riding again, maybe Hunter Jump but this time she wants me to join her in the ring. Long story short, I'm more of a motorcycle guy than a horse guy but I told her I'd join her if we got a couple of Icelandic horses and entered in this competition...
