Thunderbird Club

I have this in the car...….If I play it I'll drive too fast and get a ticket, last time was 76mph in a 60mph zone . Bad Queen!

Lump is better :woot: plus how fun would it have been to be out on the barge in the middle of Elliott Bay to film the last half of the vid!

Hydration - not alcohol, really helps me get through 3 hours of playing. Bananas are good before hand, but I usually don't eat anything for at least 3 hours before a show - too tightly wound up, I'd barf. Pickle juice is my friend onstage for cramps.
I am so glad someone else said that, everyone sounds so cool about gigging, it terrifies be just before, yeah barfing is a real possibility :roflmao: What is pickle juice?

A Tortex .73 is literally the ignition switch for a Thunderbird pickup, set them afire, I kid you not!

Don't get me wrong, I play plenty of fingerstyle stuff too, and I'm not at all being judgemental, you just haven't heard a Thunderbird until you hit it with round wound strings and a pick.

Agreed, but I prefer the green .88 version. Been my recipe for years.

At some point I'll write a post about a typical "gig day", it's pretty involved of course and more than a few times I've been envious of those that travel and look nice at shows with a simple kit. I tend to wind up before a show, not nervous, but excited and a heavy ball of food in my stomach isn't what I want.
Pickle juice is just that, the salty, sour brine from a the jar, the high level of calcium chloride can help with cramps if you drink it. I try to keep some onstage with me as I've had both, hands and feet cramp up while playing.

Oh god that sounds revolting! do you have a low salt diet? When I was in the navy we used to do what were called "attack swims" these were underwater swims maybe 1 - 2 miles depending on this or that but carrying heavy mines. My legs used to cramp up something awful, the MO gave me salt tablets but after that I increased my salt level in my diet slightly and that did the trick for me. Downside is now I'm addicted to the stuff, I like a bit of food with my salt but never ever get cramps any more.

Hey I travel and have a very simple rig, a combo amp, a lead and two basses :) Just plug it in and go make myself look pretty :roflmao: or more accurately plug in in and go find a corner to hide until on time
