I didn't say it has iron. I said it has ferric properties...
I must admit to being a bit lost here, molecular structure was never a topic of any interest. I understand the iron 2 and iron 3 ferrous, ferric thing but copper? At a guess this is about electron orbits and magnetic properties, iron has some electrons in a specific orbital shell (i forget how many and which) that gives it it's magnetic properties rather than copper's oxidation value

Just looked at the periodic table, iron - 26, copper 29, ferric iron has 3 extra electrons equalling copper. Ferric properties, should have realised that
