I was thinking the exact same thing, two piece plastic molded body.hideous. looks like those old cheap Nationals with the body made up of two molded, glued plastic halves..
I have pine basses, not necessarily a light weight wood and also not a particularly durable wood (dents very easy). I kinda wonder if that bad paint job was made worse by some after finish dents and dings. It's not a bad sounding wood but about the only common body wood that's softer is basswood, which also sounds good but just ain't durable. I'll take mahogany, alder or maple body basses and maple, mahogany, rosewood or wenge necks with maple, rosewood, Ebony or wenge fretboards.
