I believe that it took some serious brass to fly in a '17 or '24, especially in '43 when there were no long range escorts.
I want to say that this bass was discussed somewhere before (old magazine or a long forgotten forum) and he said it was a custom made from parts of other basses but was super heavy. I could be confusing this with another bass but I am pretty sure I read about this one.
I’d like to experience that.
That sounds accurate as it looks and sounds unlike any V Ive ever witnessed.

Knowing then what you are saying now, I considered replying ("gosh gee-willikers, I had no idea" etc) but knew it was a waste of my time & energy and just ripped up the letter and ignored it. Carlo went through a similar deal with the Vox guy. Meanwhile... there are reoccurring threads with tb buyers of cheap copies making lame justifications ("because it's my money and I'll spend it any way I choose") for companies blatantly manufacturing copies complete with counterfeit logo's. This (that it is criminal) is where I would agree with Ric & Vox attempting to protect their brand - but not over a one-off sorta lookalike that does not have their trademark logo.
Always liked North American's designs (B-25, P-51) but when the British married the 51 to the RR Merlin they had a match made in heaven. Goering said he knew the war was lost when he saw 51s flying over Berlin. Ironically it was the British who named it Mustang for what was to be a replacement for the Curtiss P-40...
I love Lancasters. Faster and could haul more load than a 17. Saw one flying in Duxford (at the Spitfires over Duxford yearly event) and the sound of 4 the Merlins brought tears to my eyes..
Mainly for @godofthunder59 and @TBird1958 who are the resident Slade fans but this was them last night to give some idea of what they have become. Worth looking at is Don Powell's chewing in time.
I can't remember the sound of a Lancaster even though they used to fly to RAF Valley next to where I live now. I do remember the sound of a Spitfire, a similar experience, very emotional things
I love the A20, Havoc and can see how it could be confused with the 26. They use 26s around here for firefighting. the Cubans bought a bunch of them and they went up against American 26s during Bay of Pigs crazy.Ask any B25 pilot a question and you'll get a "Huh?". They were extremely LOUD inside. Note the prop warning line is right beside the cockpit. I,too am a WWII a/c fanatic. I was at one of those WWII AF theme restaurants where there were a bunch of pix labeled A26. Nope, they were A20s. I re labeled them-doing my part for accuracy.
Even more crazy was the air encounters during the Soccer Wars of the late 60s between Honduras and El Salvador...there F4U Corsairs went up against P-51Ds!
Something about NRs....They might IF-BIG IF-there was enough demand. Most Bird lovers want the reverse. I prefer my NR and the single pup TBird II would prolly be a hit, esp. at a decent price. With the upheaval in Gibby/Epi land, I wouldn't hold my breath but we can hope.
Looks like an SG bass with jazz pickup configuration. What exactly is that?.
There are multiple videos on you tube w/ Spits, Lancs, and Mossies doing flyovers Together.
WOW, a Travis Bean neck center/body? How cool and rare. What pickups are on that?
Entwistle would be all over that one on the right..

That's what it looks like and sounded like, a Guild maybe?
Left to right -
Pelham (duh) Epiphone with 66 Thunderbuckers, bridge upgrade. The neck is from one of those Vintage Icon/Wilkinson relic basses I have always been interested in, finally found a cheap one to harvest the neck from. I am going to remount the bridge, because it left the factory a few mm off center. Which kind of screws up how the strings align on the neck, the bridge's string spacing adjustment won't completely eliminate it.
Alumnibird has been posted all over TB before, EGC neck on a Epiphone that was completely painted (fretboard too) under the influence of cocaine. Upgraded bridge and Lace Aluma bass bar pickups because aluminum. The worst neck dive in the world. I had a pro convert this one for me.
Epiphone Goth, pretty much stock except for the P-bass neck. Some boo boos and mistakes made but nothing preventing it from being played.
Bluey and Blackie were kind of me learning to use a router, my badass father-in-law gave me his old one. He's the best.
