This is Lake Crescent, it's about 10 miles long, quite narrow and very deep at over 600 feet in many places. Note the steep sides of the mountains, they simply continue on down, the water is very blue and has no algae in it, quite clear actually! At one point during WWI a logging railroad had been built along the left side of the pic with intent of harvesting the Spruce trees for aircraft, happily the conflict ended and nothing much came of the venture.

Truly a beautiful area. Going back up to Visit Discovery Bay in August. Looking forward to going back to Lake Crescent. Very cool lodge and old cabins. Back to Olympic National Park also. Get to spend a week in the area!

I love the Olympic Peninsula, I shot these in August a few years back, have a great trip Gordon!
I still remember this day at Red Beach, that sand was so nice to walk through barefoot!

If that's the Long Beach across the river from Oregon, it is a nice area. We went there twice a couple weeks back. That entire region was beautiful.

Yes. It was really, really windy last time I was there (the wind would literally hold you up when you leaned into it) and the beach had this gnarly tide way out for what seemed like miles...totally crazy views. Didn't feel like planet earth. Wish I had taken some pictures. Never seen anything like that in my life..
To get there from Seattle you go through Aberdeen WA, a town that seems forgotten by time and home to guess who?..

It's not spectacular like farther north on the Olympic Peninsula, but it's got a peacefulness that's great. Plus, Long Beach is a classic tourist trap beach town, complete with bumper cars and a cheesy arcade and museum of goofy stuff.

I've gone 45MPH on long hills in traffic on a lightweight bike. Not only is it fast, it's somewhat terrifying. I wasn't racing; I was just trying to get somewhere (alive).

I have a Nordstrand Bigman in one of my basses. Pretty darn nice. Have one of their P bass pickups as well and not a huge fan of that one

I could tell you stories about lane splitting N.Sheridon at speed with my buddy Doug through rush hour traffic in Chicago - remarkable how you assume you'll live forever when you're young! :laugh:

Thanks, the Bigman is another I was looking at.
I’ll expand my thinking: I want to build a couple of posh Tbirds (akin to a posh Hells Angel :roflmao:) figured tops and a red translucent finish with gold hardware, ideally gold pups too but none of note are available with any regularity so I’m thinking to go black; the Nordstrands look a fair bet I think/hope
