It never ceases to amaze me how many bands don't take transport seriously. I was always one to believe the van was more important than having a set of strings on my bass.

So, I was goofing on my bandmates Saturday night. One guitarist brought his Strat he hadn't played lately(he has a LP and an L5), the other was using a Peavey. I pointed out to them that they were playing a PSO and an FSO along with my GSO. The quizzical looks were priceless.

Wow - great shots. A few comments:
At first I mis-read Hotel and Steak House. Hotel and House were obvious, but my first reaction was "what kind of places do they play. And why live music? Can't they just play a recording of bow-chick-a-wah-wah on a loop?"

I've had vans as my personal vehicle since '69. The fact that I got to write them off "for business" was icing on the cake......I mean I knew a guy who did that.
What worries me from what I heard about GC is that anyone would think you can get better facts there than here!
Pffffft. Facts are over-rated. Who needs facts when you have opinions backed up by the cacophony of the rabble.
Aside a little, I saw a thread earlier in the GP about brass nuts (on a bass) and how or if they affected the sound. Some clown pipes up that he couldn't understand how they could and they only should on open strings

We were happy with all three. Guessing maybe it was a case of "speed, reliability, mileage, cost, pick three". But since it was a company car, I have no idea what the cost was.

Perhaps I should start a thread called "will removing the strings improve my playing?"
The circles I run in generally like the birds, even if they mainly play something else. I know a punk bassist with the same Epi IV I have, and people have borrowed mine when they had to sub on bass at the last minute- and been perfectly happy with it. But I don't hang with too many Norms.
Reliability and reasonable comfort are really key!
Not like our old Bedford ambulance we bought for £20, we could only start it with a good dose of ether a friendly vet gave me. Comfort, it had a bed in the back
it went about 40mph and took us all the way to Newcastle from Hersham in London and back with many an event

I drove tractor trailers for 23 years, averaging about 400-475 miles a night. Now I tell people I'm gonna zip up to Orlando(140 miles)and I get "That far?". Shoot, I can do that in my sleep. Probably have at some point.
