I dunno, I’ve toured the UK many times and can’t wait to do it again
A lot of fun mixed with a lot of boredom is spot on, especially out west where things are so spread out. Most of our show day drives for the next two weeks are at least 6 hours. Our ‘days off’ will involve pretty epic, 1,000 mile drives through the desert
Being a west Texas desert rat, I love those drives. Don't get them nearly enough.
All my tours were long weekends around the southeast, running sound for friends. Very few dull moments on those, plenty of funny stories, and a couple of long, hot, sweaty drives when the A/C was out. And one of the band was pregnant. Those weren't her favorite trips.
Are you getting a lot of forrest fire smoke in Santa Cruz? I though the fires were well North of you.

I don't buy online that much. I prefer to support local businesses wherever possible. Of course, when no one around has a TBird V for sale, then the internet calls. 8^/
Lots of smoke. The Delta was so smoggy. Thankfully we get the morning fog that keeps things cool for a bit but after say 11:00 it gets pretty bad..
Flew through the smoke of the Bastrop fire a few years back here. Like flying through evil yellow-brown clouds for several minutes. When there was a break, you could see thousands of acres of black... or flames. Pics from friends in Redding were pretty wild, too.
I'll be there next week, hope the smoke clears up a bit.
1000 mile drives?I'm laughing but that's not funny; the most I have ever driven is 600 miles in one day and that was a killer.

I recall my first trip the the UK. After a week at the office, my partner and I had a few days off. We were going to drive to Edinburgh, drop her off, and I was going to Glasgow to see friends. Everyone freaked out that we were going to drive "so far". I was confused until I realized that was most of the way across their country, whereas I've driven much farther just to get to a decent beach, or crossing Texas for any reason. It's all what you're used to.

I drove tractor trailers for 23 years, averaging about 400-475 miles a night. Now I tell people I'm gonna zip up to Orlando(140 miles)and I get "That far?". Shoot, I can do that in my sleep. Probably have at some point.
London to Glasgow is only 40 miles farther than Miami to Jacksonville. I used to do that non-stop in 5 1/2 hours-in this.
I feel sorry for the tourists!
That and the fact gasoline costs about 10 bucks a gallon in Britain...
