Thunderbird Club

Enjoying our last scenic day of the tour. Woke up in Santa Fe, had an awesome breakfast and are about to head into Taos for a bit. Enjoying it while we can because the last two days of this tour will be tough. About 525 mile drive tomorrow to the gig in Oklahoma followed by a 700 mile drive home, but today is a very good day :)

You simply must eat at La Cueva in Taos.

Here’s how my VP fits in the Yorkville case. The other end is pushed down into the fur.

And here it is with the tape measuring from the back edge of the top wing:

That looks like a much better fit than the Epiphone case. Thank you so much for the pics!

I found a case at Cosmo Music who appears to ship to US. Cannot determine if Long and McQuade will.

Well, it's here and the good news is that I hate it!

Don't get me wrong, it's GORGEOUS drool but as soon as I picked it up by the neck, I knew that was the end of the love affair. It's got a neck that feels nearly as wide as my G&L L-2500 (that's a 5 stringer, for those of you that don't speak GandLese).
I will be pulling this and my G&L SB-2 (a PJ bass) apart and making a nice ThunderB-2 (trademarking that now!)
I'm curious... does your serial number begin with "UC"?

And so are the Sunbursts!
After lurking for a year, I finally procured a beautiful T-Bird from Sweetwater. It had a minor short between the bridge pot and the tone lead which allowed some volume leakage at zero-got dirty tuning looks from BL.
Problem fixed in 10 minutes by Sweetwater's San Diego repair jobber-The Repair Room.
Got it Friday, played party Friday night and gig Saturday-awesome.

Your Eminence: I would like to petition for membership in this fine Club. May I join?View attachment 3127849 View attachment 3127849
