We’ll be visiting Santa Fe tomorrow, but we’re playing in Red River...I think![]()
Which version of TB+ pickups?
I think the only TB passive pickups that EMG make are humbuckers.
I saw a used one hanging at a GC I stopped into. I’d call it fair to good condition. It isn’t listed on the site yet. Someone tightened the pick guard screws way down and kind of messed it up. Some small dings to bare wood, but not awful. I had seen your post and didn’t even pull it down. Yep, they have the wider bolt on Epi IV neck.Well, it's here and the good news is that I hate it!

Don't get me wrong, it's GORGEOUS drool but as soon as I picked it up by the neck, I knew that was the end of the love affair. It's got a neck that feels nearly as wide as my G&L L-2500 (that's a 5 stringer, for those of you that don't speak GandLese).
I will be pulling this and my G&L SB-2 (a PJ bass) apart and making a nice ThunderB-2 (trademarking that now!)
White Thunderbirds, there's just something about White Thunderbirds...………….So Sexy!
Definitely not unplayable! Like I said, I can easily play thick necks, just not what I was looking for with this particular one. I have my plans all laid out for this bass.....

Nice Bird!! Welcome!!And so are the Sunbursts!
After lurking for a year, I finally procured a beautiful T-Bird from Sweetwater. It had a minor short between the bridge pot and the tone lead which allowed some volume leakage at zero-got dirty tuning looks from BL.
Problem fixed in 10 minutes by Sweetwater's San Diego repair jobber-The Repair Room.
Got it Friday, played party Friday night and gig Saturday-awesome.

This makes it a great forum.Thank you all!
I guess since I posted a couple times and liked various posts, my lurking wasn’t very secretive. And . . . You all really do make this a great forum.

Beautiful basses indeed. Leo's best bass design ever imho. Everyone I know who has one bought them many years ago and don't plan on letting go any time soon.Good eye! Yes, a 1980 L2000, Serial # B000617. I purchased it new 38 years ago. A great bass.
it's DChid not DChild. Who's Desmond?Welcome, I bought my bird despite it being Vintage Sunburst and ended up loving the way it looks. So there’s that.
DChild hey? Do we call you Desmond?![]()
Madrid, New Mexico is a thriving metropolis of about 200 hardy souls, according to the always reliable internet. That's on par with Blacklick, Ohio, the closet town when I was a kid. It looks like you will be going well north of Roswell. We have already discussed that place, so you don't have to go there anyway.
Will you be stopping in Santa Fe or Taos? Those are places I haven't been but very much want to get to.
A guy returns from a trip to Israel. He's asked if he saw the wailing wall and what did he think of it. He said "It's like talking to a wall"Been there. It sounds cool to visit but once you have seen it, the novelty wears off very quickly.
